The grave of Tsoi - a rock musician, poet, composer and film actor - has become a place of true pilgrimage. People, young and not very, bring flowers here (sometimes cigarettes), stand, feel sad, sing his songs, and some who consider themselves talented perform their own. Almost a quarter of a century has passed since the artist’s death, fans have calmed down, but they have not forgotten their idol.
Like the wall in Moscow known to fans throughout the country, Tsoi’s grave became a material embodiment of memory, which lovers of Kino songs have remained loyal to, who have become mature people over the past decades. The singer was not able to cross the thirty-year milestone, he did not have much.
The secret of the popularity of his works is not in the virtuosity of the vocals, the sophistication of the arrangements or the beauty of the melodies. His songs, sometimes with raw lyrics and unfinished musically, were consonant with the times, they expressed emotions close to youth. Such spiritual unity is far more important than any other virtues.
Both in Russia and in other countries, cemetery cemeteries attract many visitors. The fashion for their work has long passed, glory remains. The tombs of Vladimir Vysotsky, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Jimmy Hendrix are covered with flowers . This posthumous recognition must be earned. Tsoi’s grave clearly demonstrates that he succeeded.
This happened in the late summer of 1990. The Moskvich of the latest model, donated by producer Aizenshpis, raced along the road. At a twisty bend in the area of Tukums (Latvia), the car suddenly stepped into the oncoming traffic. By tragic accident, the lane was busy, a bus was driving along it. A head-on collision with a heavy car killed a 28-year-old singer.
Doctors, examining the remains, came to the conclusion that Victor was sober, but could not manage. Absolutely reliably, the cause of the fatal maneuver will never be known.
In 2010, Tsoi’s grave (or rather a monument on it) underwent restoration, which was carried out by his architects. They did it for free, on their own initiative, timed work to the twentieth anniversary of the death of the singer.
Each admirer of the Kino group who lives in St. Petersburg or has been in it will tell you how to find Tsoi’s grave. To do this, you should come to the Theological Cemetery, then everything is very simple. In the central (Bratsk) avenue, a hundred and fifty meters from the Church of St. John the Evangelist , mountains of flowers stand out vividly.
On weekends, and especially on memorable dates related to the biography of Victor, a lot of people gather here. Visitors behave culturally, there are no incidents. Candles are burning, songs are being played, people are talking quietly. On weekdays it happens that there is no one.
True art is alien to idolatry and hysteria. Several suicides of the fans of the Kino group that occurred immediately after the death of the singer indicate that they are not always sufficiently balanced. Unfortunately, people with an unhealthy psyche are often prone to mass psychoses. It is hoped that the place of manifestation of sick emotions will not be the grave of Tsoi.
Photos taken on the background of the monument, as a rule, are not laid out on social networks and are not shown to everyone. They are stored as a memory of your favorite musician.
