Fruit Salad - A Delicious Vitamin Dessert

From the history of culinary it follows that the first salads were invented by the Romans for their feasts, which served, among others, dishes from vegetables and herbs, seasoned with vinegar and honey.

But when the first fruit salad appeared, the story is modestly silent about this. Most likely this happened during the time of our ancestors Adam and Eve, who tasted the forbidden fruit.

Fruit salad is a mixture of a variety of fresh fruits, crushed into small pieces. It is usually served chilled as a dessert, crowning any meal, be it a dinner party or a romantic dinner. And what an amazing treat for children! What can be tastier and healthier, because fruits are vitamins in their natural form that give us vitality!

Today, the fruit salad on our table includes not only fruits growing in our region, but also exotic fruits that have become familiar : oranges, kiwi, bananas, pineapple, etc. The composition of the ingredients may vary depending on the season and taking into account the compatibility of the fruit. To prepare a salad, any housewife only needs to turn on the imagination and an unusual fruit โ€œcompositionโ€ will be born.

Traditional fruit salad consists of apple, orange, pear, dessert banana. Seedless grapes, mandarin, watermelon, melon, apricot, and peach are also used as ingredients. Sprinkle the salad with sugar, plain or brown, or add honey. To add flavor, use raisins, ground almonds or hazelnuts. To preserve the fresh appearance of the fruit and give freshness, add lemon juice. A small amount of cognac, rum or liquor will give the salad a special note.

Salads are also seasoned with creams - creamy, chocolate, nut, custard. And if you still decorate these culinary delights with skillfully carved slices of lemon or orange, you get amazing fruit desserts.

Recipes, examples:

  • Cut into small cubes, the most affordable fruits: orange, apple, banana, kiwi pour fruit yogurt.
  • To peeled and diced 4 kiwi and 1 medium-sized pineapple, add 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar and walnuts, vanilla sugar from 2 bags and season with 3 tablespoons of lemon juice and fruit syrup.
  • Dice 2 apples, banana, orange, 4 apricots (canned apricots or dried apricots can be used), add 2 tablespoons of nuts. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of sugar, pour 2 tablespoons of liquor or lemon juice. Season with sour cream or yogurt.
