Miles Kane - biography and creativity

Miles Kane was born in the spring of 1986 in Merseyside. Miles was one child in the family, and after his parents divorced, his mother raised him. The musician recalls that she had a great taste - at home there were recordings of the English rock bands T. Rex and The Beatles, as well as representatives of the United States, performing under the label Motown Records. Already in childhood, Miles Kane decided to become a musician.

In school years, our hero was very fond of the theme from the cartoon "Pink Panther" and therefore began to master the saxophone in the early years. But when he was thirteen, his mother's sister gave the boy a Spanish guitar. As Miles Kane said in an interview, he fell in love with this musical instrument, and left the saxophone. In those years, as the musician recalls, he dreamed of becoming a rock music star. He was inspired by Liam Gallagher and Richard Ashcroft. At the age of eighteen, he began playing in a young band from the city of Hoylake - The Little Flames. During this period, Alex Turner and Miles Kane met for the first time. Sparks performed in 2005, opening for Arctic Monkeys. In 2007, the collective, in which the musical career of our hero began, broke up without releasing a single album.

Soon, Miles Kane with two former Twinkle musicians - bass player Joe Edwards and drummer Greg Mikhol - formed the band - The Rascals. Lyrics for songs in the new team were written by our hero, he was also a vocalist. At the end of 2007, the world saw their debut mini-album. And in the summer of 2008, the only Rascalize disc was released, which included 14 songs. At the same time, another group mini-album was released. The musicians participated in the creation of the feature film Awaydays ("Elapsed Time"). Its action took place in the late 70s in the suburbs of Liverpool, the places where all three of these people grew up. In the film, Kane and his comrades played the musicians of the band of that time, Echo & the Bunnymen, performing her song All That Jazz.

In 2009, Kane’s second rock band split up and he decided to start a solo career. In 2010-2011, Miles created several singles, performed solo concerts, as well as in collaboration with other musicians. In May 2011, Kane's debut album, The Color of the Trap, was released, and two years later the second, Don't Forget Who You Are, was released. In the recording of one song of the first album, Miles participated Noel Gallagher. And Happenstance was performed by Kane together with French actress Clemence Poetzie.

Miles Kane, teamed up with The Arctic Monkeys vocalist Alex Turner, founded the supergroup The Last Shadow Puppets in 2007. In this project, they focused on rock music of Great Britain in the 1960s, especially on the work of Scott Walker. In March 2008, a concert of the new band took place in the Brooklyn New York area, and on April 21, 2008, music lovers had the opportunity to evaluate their first album. Later, the activities of the team died out. But in 2016, new projects began unification, founded by two vocalists.
