There are dishes that are not suitable for everyday meals, distinguished by sophistication and zest. One such dish is pork with pineapple. It can be served on the festive table. Believe me, guests and relatives will be something to surprise you! Despite the simple name, pork in pineapples is not easy to cook.

You need to start cooking this dish with the preparation of meat. A piece of pork, preferably a neck, must be marinated. Marinade per 1 kg of meat is the same as if you marinated pork for barbecue. Required: 1 cup of vinegar, the same amount of water, 3-4 onions, salt, pepper, sugar and bay leaf. The meat must be cut into portions. Onions are cut in half rings and mixed with meat. Then everything is poured with marinade and left in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours. Pork with pineapple is cooked in the future without onions, so you can not cut it nicely, like on a table, but just for taste.

Usually pork with pineapples in the oven is more common than it is, but cooked on the stove. We will consider both cooking options.

The first method is pork in pineapples cooked on a stove. This will require a pot, but not enameled. Onion from the marinade is laid on the bottom of the pan (then you do not need to add it to the general dish), then laid out raw carrots, grated on a fine grater, then put the pieces of pork. All this is watered by the marinade itself, but not by all, we use about ½ of its part. The pan is placed on medium heat and closed with a lid. So the meat needs to be stewed for about 1 hour. Next, add the pineapples. This is done according to this scheme - so that the pork with pineapples is juicy and absorbs all the juice, pineapples need to be laid out not on the meat above, but under it. That is, you pick up each piece of pork and put a circle of pineapple under it. In this form, stew the pork under the lid for about another 30 minutes. Then the fire turns off, and the meat should be infused for about 20 minutes. Everything, it is ready to be served. You can serve a dish with meat to your taste, but be sure to put on each piece of meat on top the circle of pineapple on which it lay. This will not only give a beautiful and interesting look to the dish, but pineapple juice will still be present on the meat.

The second way is pork with pineapples in the oven. Here the cooking process is a little simpler, there is no sequence, everything is laid at the same time. Foil is spread on a baking sheet. On the foil you need to put the meat in this form - a layer of onions, then a layer of carrots, pineapples in circles, meat on top. Next, you need to put pineapples on top of the meat again. The foil must be wrapped by tightly fastening the edges. Thus, the pork will be wrapped in pineapples and absorb their juice in the best way. In this form, the meat must be baked for 1 hour at a temperature of 180 degrees. After that, the foil will need to be unfolded, clean the top layer of pineapples so that they do not burn and put the meat in the oven for another 10-15 minutes. This is done so that the meat acquires an appetizing golden crust. And if you do not remove pineapples, they will simply burn and spoil not only the appearance of the dish, but also its flavor. Some housewives just pull the meat out of the foil and put it in the oven separately for 10 minutes. We do not recommend doing this, because in 10 minutes the meat becomes much drier than if left in the marinade and foil, but with an open top.
