This French cognac got its name in honor of the captain of the French merchant fleet, one of the founders of the house. In 1858, Mounier, jointly with the owner of the warehouses, Jean Salmon and the owner of the vineyards of Belle, founded the wholesale trading company Mounier & Cie. Initially, the company exported grape products in bulk to the Netherlands, quickly expanded and began to supply goods to countries throughout Northern Europe.

In 1874, Mr. Mounier decided to move on, not limited to wholesale trade, and organized the production of his own cognac for sale both in France and abroad. Cognac sold under the brand name Henri Mounier & Co. A few years later the name was reduced to "Henri Mounier", which is known to this day.

From the very beginning, the company set strict quality control standards at every stage of the production process: aging, distillation, mixing and bottling. Largely for this reason, this brand is valued for its high quality product.

A beginner, but a talented winemaker from the very beginning set the bar for the quality of his products. Henri Mounier could, on the spot, in front of the astonished employees, destroy the barrel of the product that he didn’t like. All his time, since the founding of the company, Mounier devoted his favorite business - the development and improvement of different types of cognac.

Anri brandy was made only from the best grape varieties actually grown by the company. The owner personally controlled the process of uninstalling and aging cognac. In the production barrels of only two varieties of oak were used - Tronse and Limousin.

A few years after the founding of the cognac house, the high quality of this drink was known throughout the world. Until now, all assigned tasks are performed by employees with strict observance of all norms and requirements at each stage of production.

Production technology

For a hundred years, the manufacturing technology of Henri brandy has changed slightly, but the fundamental points have remained the same. The grapes are harvested manually, the clusters are carefully sorted, only the best clusters are selected for cognac production: not broken, not spoiled and not crushed. Squeezed juice is fermented for 3-4 weeks. The resulting young wine is distilled twice, in the end get brandy alcohol with a strength of 60-70 degrees.

Then a secret process takes place, the subtleties of which are known to few in the enterprise. Experienced winemakers dilute alcohol and aged in barrels of selected oak. Cognac "Henry" is aged in barrels of exceptional quality without nails. Saving on these accessories is strictly prohibited, because the final quality of the product, its aroma and taste depend on it. In accordance with aging cognac is specially marked. French cognac H Mounier is available in ages from 2 to 6 years, special brands provide aging up to 20 years.
