History tour
In May 1955, the Kiev Mobile Theater was transferred to Simferopol. The building of the institution was located on Mendeleev Street in the club named after Dzerzhinsky. In those days it was called the Crimean Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater. In June 1955, the newly organized troupe played the first performance entitled "Strong in Spirit." After a short time, the repertoire of the Musical Theater in Simferopol was replenished with the productions of “The Merry Widow”, “Hanuma” and “Then in Seville”.
Since 1977, troupe performances took place in a new building on Sq. Lenin, whose architects were V. Yudin and S. Amzametdinov. This institution is of particular cultural value, as it is considered the only professional theater in the Crimea with a musical repertoire.
Simferopol GAMT today
From the first day of its foundation, the team has been working on the creation of unique contemporary representations and their genre diversity. In 2014, the institution was renamed the State Academic Musical Theater of the Republic of Crimea. “Silva”, “Notre Dame Cathedral”, “Herod” and “Farewell, entertainer” are the brightest productions that harmoniously combine dance, word and music. The following performances and operettas deservedly became the hallmark of the theater for many years of its existence: Truffaldino from Bergamo, Aeneid, Marriage, Bat, Sevastopol Waltz and Illegalka.
Recent years have turned out to be key for the ballet troupe and its formation as an independent unit capable of creating highly professional performances. Thanks to a close-knit team, the audience of the Musical Theater in Simferopol saw such works as Don Quixote, Bakhchisarai Fountain, Pier Crassus, Vain Precaution, Chinese Legend and many others. The ballet production of “Gods and Men” was prepared to mark the beginning of a new season.
Young spectators and their parents will find many fascinating fairy tales, vaudeville and musicals. The troupe of the theater also successfully tours the countries of the former USSR and wins international festivals.

The repertoire of the theater includes about a dozen instructive and entertaining productions for the youngest spectators. We will consider the most popular.
