The conscience of Dr. House and the "good guy." Who is James Wilson really? Let's consider in detail.
First meeting
The viewer gets acquainted with the character of the series "House MD" in the first series. In it, James Anthony Wilson seems to be the opposite of Dr. House himself - polite and friendly, he does not at all look like a cynical and rude protagonist. In the same episode, their relationship is shown - friendship, in spite of everything.
Character
James Wilson is a quiet and intelligent person. House has repeatedly noted its "softness" and "weak character." Outbursts of anger are not in his character, but devils still exist in this whirlpool.
Because of these "devils" it is difficult to say unequivocally what role Wilson plays in relations with the main character.
James and House have many things in common - both manipulators and enjoy it, both are not averse to acting stealthily to achieve their goals, both are prone to depression. The difference is that House does not hide its negative features.
On the other hand, Wilson cannot be called a hypocrite - he sincerely sympathizes with patients and tries to help. In addition, the character does not defy the rules and is often the "voice of morality." He is diplomatic and is usually liked by people.
Occupation
At Princeton Placeboro Hospital, James Wilson is the Head of the Cancer Department. His work is closely linked to death, so he often has to report bad news. House believes that Wilson has a talent for doing this in such a way that he is thanked.
House also admits that Wilson is a good doctor.
Relations with women
James Wilson was married three times and in the second season of the show divorces his third wife. All three of his wives, according to House theory, were “needy” and left him, like his patients, as soon as James “cured” them.
In the middle of season 4, Wilson begins dating Amber “The Merciless Bitch” Volakis, a former House intern who did not go through a rigorous selection at the beginning of season 4. Their relationship is becoming more serious with each series. For the compliant Wilson, Amber becomes the ideal lead partner.
There is a theory that Wilson likes "Ruthless Bitch" because she is a female prototype of House. But they positively influence each other: Amber softens, and James learns to make his own choices.
Perhaps Walakis would be the last Mrs. Wilson, but the screenwriters reasoned differently.
Friendship with House
When James Wilson appears on the screen, there is a feeling that he and House are familiar from the school bench - he is known to the parents of a genius, and the genius himself is known by the three ex-wives of Wilson. The story of dating friends is revealed only in the 5th season of the show.
As James himself said, their friendship was based on House boredom. They met at a medical conference and, in short, Wilson broke an antique mirror in an attempt to get House to turn off the song on the jukebox. House paid a deposit for Wilson when he was arrested, because he "needed a drinking companion."
Although Wilson may be called House's "conscience", and their friendship is often called the attraction of opposites, this is not entirely true. Friends equally play a trick on each other (not always kindly), make crazy bets and make bets. In one of the series, they even compete for a woman. This series shows that Wilson, like House, always goes all the way.
Wilson does not resignedly humor the jokes of a brilliant friend - he may well secretly file his cane. He also tries to re-educate the latter behind House, but he does so in order to give the impression that Lisa Cuddy (the head doctor of the hospital) is responsible for the idea.
At the same time, Wilson often defends and tries to justify House.
The series finale also shows how much House appreciates James and how much he is willing to sacrifice for him.
