Gomel is one of the largest cities in the Republic of Belarus, the second most populous city after Minsk, the capital of the state.
Residents of the city are given ample opportunities for recreation and entertainment: various exhibitions and festivals are regularly held in Gomel, several theaters, a circus, a philharmonic society, as well as 3 cinemas function.
Gomel Cinema “October”
One of the largest and oldest cinemas in the city can be called October, which was first opened for visitors shortly before the start of World War II in 1940.
Address of the cinema "October" in Gomel - st. Barykina, 127 (Sovetsky district of the city). It can be reached from almost anywhere in Gomel by buses under the numbers 3, 17, 14, 21, 20, trams 22, 25, 7, reaching the stop of the same name.
Visitors call this cinema the best in the area, noting the convenient location, clean cinema halls with wide rows and comfortable leather chairs. It is also important that tickets for a session at the Gomel “October” cinema can not only be purchased directly at the box office, but also ordered on the Internet on the official website.
Also in the cinema building there is a small cafe where you can spend time waiting for the film to begin.
"Peace"
Another cinema in Gomel is Mir, located in the Novobelitsky district at ul. Illicha 51B (the Second School public transport stop where buses 5, 18, 12, 55 and others go). It began its work in 1959, then was closed for restoration and began to operate again in 2012.
"Mir" is as popular among city dwellers as the Gomel "October" cinema. There is 1 large cinema hall and 2 video rooms, totaling up to 2 hundred spectators, as well as a special VIP-hall with six seats. A feature of the latter is that visitors can independently select a movie to watch from those that are currently being rented.
In addition to film screenings, various seminars, business trainings and other events are also periodically held at Mir.
"Anti-cinema"
Unlike “Peace” and “October”, this place is not a real cinema in the literal sense of the word, as the name says. "Antikininema" is an antikafe located on the street. Dostoevsky, 1 (the nearest stop is the Distillery).
The main difference between this place and other anticafe is the higher-quality equipment for watching movies: wide screens, a professional sound system, film projectors.
In the "Antikininema" you can celebrate a birthday or other holiday, as well as just have a good time with friends.
