The most striking example of surrealistic cinema - the film "Andalusian dog" - just "explodes the brain" when viewed. It seems that this is a challenge not only to personal perception, but to the whole logic that strictly defines our human consciousness. Perhaps the average viewer, the same as the author of this publication, due to limited perception or generally accepted intellectual cliches that are formed in society, culture, is not able to appreciate the whole message of authorship, design. But the fact that watching this picture is worth it is unique. Personally, my mind, bound by the limited scope of the existing insignificant life experience, constantly watched while watching, rather shouted: āWhat nonsense !?ā. And the subconscious, eagerly listening to the hidden meaning, whispered: "Amazing!"

While watching the movie āAndalusian dogā it is impossible to tear yourself away from what is happening on the screen. Even the famous initial episode - the cutting of the eye, during which the female face transforms into a dog's face, does not scare, does not cause disgust and the desire to immediately stop viewing. Watching the movie further, I could not catch even a weak logical chain linking what is happening together. And then, remembering the dreaming nature of the images of the film, I took out the Dream Book.
Movie without a storyline
In this
short film, there is no storyline in the usual sense for us, although
Luis Bunuel and Salvador Dali had something that was vaguely reminiscent of the script. āAndalusian dogā is pure surrealism in which each viewer can find or think up something of his own. After viewing the interpretation of some symbolic images by āDream Interpretationā for me this picture is about human sins: lust, revenge, pride, indifference. And about madness! I canāt say that the film āAndalusian dogā is madness, but itās definitely about madness. Outrageous creators - the corresponding picture - a shock from a wide audience. In the film, the unconscious consciously turned into the main sphere of artistic research. There is no point in retelling, and it will not work. The only thing I can say is that if the first part of the film can still be somehow connected, then the second part can only be watched, connected into a single whole, what is happening on the screen is simply unrealistic. This is where you recall Bunuel, who was equally contemptuous of those who were indignant at his creation, and those whom he insanely admired.
Revolutionary Renewal of Consciousness
In any case, each image that appears in the film causes a burst of subconsciousness, and instead of the usual logic they are interconnected, where at any next moment each shown element can be replaced by its analogue. Such a chain of substitutions: ants - blood, death - erotica. As a result, Andalusian Dog, a unique experiment by young Spaniards, is still considered not only the most radical experience, but also one of the most utopian, clearly focused on updating consciousness, including cinematic, films. And let it remain incomprehensible to the majority of viewers, the way it should be: surrealism is, by no means otherwise.
