April 2015 brought to the big screens of world cinemas a new blockbuster - “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. Actors, director, screenwriters, in general, the entire film crew and the creators of the project did their best, the film turned out to be very spectacular and epic. Grandiose battle scenes, magnificent panoramas, shooting from the most incredible angles and amazing special effects - all this, if it did not allow the sequel to overtake the first movie in theaters, it certainly ensured the sixth place in the list of the highest grossing films in the history of cinema. But far from the last role in the success of this fantastic action movie was played by an amazing team of star actors, whose characters have long been popular favorites.
Fantastic action movie with new elements.
What is so special about Avengers: Age of Ultron? The actors who played key and minor characters in the superhero team both in solo paintings and in the first part of the adventures of the planet’s defenders remained the same. But in the second part, they had a small replenishment in the composition, as well as a new antagonist. True, according to many viewers, Ultron still could not get around in this aspect the main villain of the first part of Loki, performed by the inimitable Tom Hiddleston. In general, the director and screenwriter Jos Whedon tried to bring more emotions into the new picture, to reveal already seemingly familiar characters from a new perspective, to focus on moral aspects and human relationships. Whedon did a tremendous job, he managed to very organically allocate time for each of these motley characters, and balanced the screen time for them so that no one was left without attention. However, the main emphasis is still on action, because Avengers is primarily a large-scale blockbuster.

iron Man
Like it or not, but the main star of the project was and remains Robert Downey Jr., who for many years remains the only and unique Tony Stark. By the way, this actor has the highest fee for participating in the film adaptations of the Marvel comics. The Iron Man costume is just an addition to a brilliant mind, a terrific sense of humor and the great heart of this planetary protector. In the second part of The Avengers, Stark is in some ways the root cause of Ultron breaking out into the world, because initially this project was conceived to protect humanity. Starting his work secretly from everyone except Bruce Benner, Tony was guided only by good goals, but after his mistake he lost the trust of many team members. As it turns out later, this was only the first step towards a split among the team of superheroes, which will be more clearly expressed in the upcoming film of the Marvel universe, “Captain America: Civil War”.
Right captain
We can say that the opposite of Stark is Steve Rogers, better known as Captain America. This absolute positive hero, a kind of right guy, is played not for the first time by handsome Chris Evans. In this part of The Avengers, a certain gap is revealed between Rogers, torn from his time and still not fully accustomed to the present, and the rest of the team. Captain America is too correct, practically without flaws, which makes him more distant from other heroes who, one way or another, have their own "skeletons in the closet."
Real god
The most straightforward, simple as far as this word can generally be applied to the god from Asgard, the character remains Thor performed by Chris Hamsworth. He, as usual, with pleasure jokes in the frame and always out of place. His fantastic abilities more than once help a team out of troubles. Thor is one of those heroes who always strive to form a team, although Tony Stark’s trick also seriously angered him.
Opposites attract
The romantic relationship between team members is another new twist on the plot of Avengers: Age of Ultron. The actors playing the Hulk and the Black Widow interact a lot in the frame. At the same time, the love line very organically fit into the plot and pretty well diversified the overall dynamics of the picture. Mark Ruffalo incarnates on the screen of Bruce Benner for the second time, before the “Avengers” solo films about the Hulk came out with other actors in the title role. And although Mark does not look like a conqueror of female hearts at all, it was his character that the beautiful spy Natasha Romanoff chose as her love interest. But such strong characters simply cannot have everything smoothly. When trying to get closer to Banner, Natasha had to overcome more than one obstacle. Both of them have deep psychological problems, which they are used to solving in different ways, which ultimately translates into conflict. The gorgeous Scarlett Johansson was very convincing both in emotional dialogs and in fights with amazing effects.
Underrated hero
About the Hawkeye, a wide audience knows little about it. Unfortunately, Clint Barton, like the Black Widow, still has not received his own film in the Marvel Cinema Universe. However, the character in "Avengers" is not overwritten and try to talk about him as much as possible. As in the previous part, the well-aimed archer is played by the radiant Jeremy Renner. The Age of Ultron opened the curtain on the secrets of Hawkeye's life and introduced it to his family. It was his house that became a shelter for the whole team of heroes, when they had absolutely nowhere to go to take a break in the unequal struggle with the new villain.
From villains to allies
Although the new antagonist looks like a robot, actor James Spader gave him his voice, as well as gestures and movements . Ultron in his performance turned out to be a fairly typical supervillain. Originally designed to protect the Earth, the program was revived with the help of the scepter of Loki, which clearly could not lead to anything good. Considering humanity as the main threat, Ultron recruited his assistants and began to make plans to destroy the team of the Avengers, and behind them the main problem of the planet, from his point of view. The assistants were a brother and sister with superpowers, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, who blamed Tony Stark for the death of their parents, so it was better not to find accomplices Ultron. Mercury by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and the Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, was able to cause unexpectedly strong damage to the company of superheroes, spreading fear and defeatism among them. When the twins learned about the real plans of their patron, they realized that they had chosen the wrong side and joined the team of the Avengers in the fight against world evil, but only one of them was destined to stay in it.

Avengers: Age of Ultron: Supporting Actors
In addition to the main favorite characters and new heroes and villains, the audience saw many other old friends. Not the last role in the victory of the forces of good against the evil android was played by Colonel James Rhodes, well-known in many films of the Marvel studio, who is also played by the smiling Don Cheadle. Samuel L. Jackson returned to the role of Nick Fury and was able to restore the morale of the team of heroes at a difficult time for them. Agent Avengers again helped agent Mary Hill, performed by actress Kobe Smulders. The voice of Paul Bettany has long been familiar to all fans of Iron Man and the Avengers, because this is the voice of Jarvis, but, finally, the audience saw the actor himself, who got the role of the improved android Vision, in some way an ally of the superhero team. Also starred in the film: Thomas Kretschman (Wolfgang von Strucker), Claudia Kim (Dr. Cho), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), Andy Serkis (Ulysses Clough) and many others. And Stan Lee, the creator of many Marvel comics, appeared in a small cameo, he played a veteran at the Avengers party.
