Almost every second housewife knows the recipe for Napoleon. After all, such a cake is the most delicious and delicate dessert, from which both adults and children are delighted. It is worth noting that it is prepared quite easily, but to get the perfect sweet dish you will need to make a lot of effort and spend a lot of time.
Cake "Napoleon": recipe with photo
Essential Ingredients:
- cream margarine - 260 g;
- wheat flour - 2.5 cups for shortcakes and 3 large spoons for cream;
- filtered drinking water - ยฝ cup;
- apple cider vinegar - 2 large spoons;
- table salt - at personal discretion;
- fresh fat milk - 500 ml;
- granulated sugar - 1 cup;
- large chicken egg - 3 pcs.;
- fresh butter - 110 g;
- vanilla sugar - 1 pack (5 g).
Kneading Dough Process
The recipe for "Napoleon", or rather, the process of preparing the base, requires careful observance of all of the following recommendations, otherwise the cake will not work out soft and lush. Thus, it is necessary to pour drinking water into a large bowl, add apple cider vinegar and a small pinch of table salt to it. After that, in a separate dish you need to finely chop a slightly melted creamy margarine and grind it with wheat flour until an oily crumb is formed. Next, water and vinegar should be poured into the resulting mass, and then mix everything thoroughly with your hands, so that as a result a thick base forms, well sticking to the hands. It is worth noting that this option is a classic test recipe. "Napoleon", prepared according to it, turns out to be very tasty and tender.
After the base is well mixed, it must be divided into exactly 4 parts, each of which must be wrapped in cling film and sent to the refrigerator for 1.5 hours.
Cream Process
The recipe for โNapoleonโ may contain different methods of preparing the cream. However, we will consider only its classic version. To do this, in a separate bowl, carefully beat 3 chicken eggs, add sugar, wheat flour and fresh fat milk to them. Next, the ingredients need to be slightly warmed up in a water bath. During this treatment, the cream should thicken, after which it is necessary to put butter and vanilla on it. Then the cream should be thoroughly mixed and cooled in cold air.
Cake baking
Ready and chilled dough is required to be taken out of the refrigerator, divided into two equal pieces each piece (8 pieces in total) and rolled into a circle, the diameter of which will be equal to the size of the shape where it is planned to bake cakes. They are cooked in the oven quickly enough (12-17 minutes).
Dessert making
The browned cakes should be cooled and then greased liberally with previously prepared cream. On top of the cake, it is also recommended to generously coat and sprinkle with crumbs, which should be independently made from cut edges.
As you can see, the recipe for "Napoleon" is not so complicated as it seems at first glance. The formed cake can be eaten immediately (in this case it will be crispy), or you can let it soak, which will make it soft and tender.
