Green tea: harm or benefit?

In Slavic culture, tea is as prominent as pancakes or dumplings. Although this is an imported product brought from Sri Lanka, from China, India or Japan, it is still so rooted in us that it is drunk every day in almost every house. Green tea in our area appeared later than black tea , but, nevertheless, has already found its connoisseurs and even fans.

Many still cannot decide what effect green tea has on the human body - does it bring harm or benefit? Some doctors claim that he is, after all, an elixir of health. Most of the "advocates" of this tonic drink are scientists from Japan, where this type of tea is actually grown. They give their arguments.

So, in the Japanese Cancer Research Center for about 10 years or more examined about ten thousand people, and came to a stunning conclusion. It turns out that the life expectancy of those who drank from half a dozen to a dozen small Japanese cups (and not Russian mugs!) Per day was approximately 6 years longer than the life path of those who did not like green tea, and three cups a day was enough for him . Moreover, it turned out that connoisseurs of miraculous infusion are 25% less likely to suffer from various types of cancer, since the substances that it contains have a beneficial effect on the tumor and prevent it from growing.

In addition, this tea accelerates the breakdown of fats and cholesterol, tones the heart muscle, lowers blood pressure, and has a beneficial effect on the liver. Many Japanese people use green tea pulp instead of toothpaste, and to cope with nausea during seasickness or during pregnancy, they chew dry leaves of the tea bush. We see how healthy green tea is. Harm from it occurs if it is abused. The rule of the โ€œgolden meanโ€ is important here: not much and not little.

Of course, we can say that those who drink a lot of tea, beloved by the Japanese, also suffer from various diseases, like those who prefer other varieties of tea or coffee. But is it legitimate in this case to ask the question: is green tea harmful? This drink has the property of lowering pressure, so it is equally useful for hypertensive patients and harmful for hypotensives. It contains vitamins K, PP, C1, B1 and B2, as well as copper, zinc, potassium and iodine, which indicates how healthy green tea is. Purines that contribute to the formation of poisonous urea are harmful to the body. This can lead to metabolic disorders. Deposition of salts can lead to the development of gout, rheumatism and a variety of arthritis.

If we analyze the composition of the drink in more detail, we will see that it contains many exciting substances. By the way, there is more caffeine in its composition than in coffee itself. This substance has an invigorating effect, so it is best to drink this variety of tea in the morning. But the insidious properties of caffeine are also known - the body gets used to it and eventually requires a larger and larger dose. Green tea is harmful to those who suffer from insomnia, nervous diseases, increased irritability. In addition, it is worth giving up on hypotensives, people with chronic kidney diseases, suffering from arthrosis, gout and rheumatism.

In addition, you need to learn how to properly brew green tea. The harm from improper brewing and improper consumption can exceed the benefits of this drink. So, green tea leaves are brewed 2 times longer than their black counterpart. You need to brew tea leaves not with boiling water, since the taste and most of the nutrients are destroyed, but with hot water (about 70-80 C). You need to do this in three steps: for a third of the volume of the teapot (so that half the teaspoon of teas corresponds to a glass of water); after two minutes, fill the teapot in half, and after a couple of minutes - 3 quarters. Emptying it halfway, you can add boiling water to it to the top. Green tea is incompatible with sugar and, especially, with milk. If you are used to drinking sweet tea, drink it with honey.
