Julianne Alexandra Hough - American dancer, singer and actress. Julianne Hough is a two-time winner of the American Dance TV Show Dancing with the Stars. In 2007, she was nominated for an Emmy Prime Time Prize for outstanding choreography in the fifth season of the show. She received her first major acting role in 2011 in the musical film "Free". In September 2014, Julianne returned to the show "Dancing with the Stars", but already as a judge. Together with her brother Derek (who is a six-time winner of the dance show) and Tessandra Chavez, she finally received an Emmy for her outstanding choreography in 2015. Julianne Hough was born in the small town of Orem, in Utah County (USA). In a family of five children, the girl was the youngest child. Julianne's parents, Marianne and Bruce Hough, were Mormons. Father twice became chairman of the Republican Party of Utah. Julianne's brother, Derek, is also a professional dancer. The girl also has three older sisters: Sheri, Marebeth and Katherine. All four of Hough's grandparents were professional ballet dancers. Julianne is also the second cousin of the musicians of the R5 group: Riker, Raidel, Rocky and Ross Lynch. Their grandmothers were sisters.

Beginning of a dance career

Julianne Hough began to practice ballroom dancing at the Central Performing Arts Studio in Orem, at the age of 9, the girl already performed at competitions. In 1999, when she was 10 years old, the girl’s parents experienced a divorce and sent her and her brother Derek to London to live and study with mentors - Corky and Shirley Ballas. Together with Julianne and Derek, the mentors also taught dancing to their own son, Mark. Following in the footsteps of Derek, Julianne entered the Conti Academy of Theater Arts in Italy with him when the set opened. They were trained in singing, theatrical art, gymnastics and various dance genres, including jazz, ballet and step. When the girl was 12, three children formed their own pop-music trio 2B1G ("2 boys, 1 girl"), they performed at various dance competitions in the UK and the USA, and got on the British television show. At age 15, Julianne Hough became the youngest dancer and the only American to win in the Latin American dance competition in two categories at once: “Juniors” and “Youth”.

After some time, the girl returned to her father in the United States and in Utah entered high school. After graduation, Julianne entered the Academy of Arts in Las Vegas.

"Dancing with the Stars"

Half was the winner of many dance shows, is the owner of various prestigious awards and prizes for choreography. In 2008, she once again took part in the show "Dancing with the Stars." During one of the performances, she felt severe pain in the abdomen and was immediately taken to the hospital. She underwent an operation to remove appendicitis, which is why Julianne had to miss several performances. Two weeks later, the girl returned to the show, although her couple dropped out of the competition in the semifinals.

On November 20, 2008, Julianne told Ryan Seacrest on his show that she was not going to return to the show for the foreseeable future, as she wanted to devote herself to continuing her musical career. However, she returned in the eighth season, pairing up with her boyfriend, country performer Chuck Weeks. The pair took 6th place. In October 2011, Julianne returned to the show and performed two dances with Kenny Wormold, a colleague in the musical Free. In 2012, she danced as part of an advertising campaign for her new film, Rock for Ages. On October 7, 2013, Half was a guest judge, and in September 2014 she returned as a regular judge of the Dancing with the Stars show.

Music

The first country single, Half, was released in May 2007 to raise money for the American Red Cross. Julianne later signed to a record label in Nashville. Her debut album was recorded there, and David Malloy became the producer.
