Svetlana Balashova, whose biography is known to every domestic film fan, was born on October 2, 1943. The childhood of the future famous actress passed in a very difficult, post-war years: the country recently survived the Second World War, leaving it with heavy human and financial losses, and now with all its might restored its economy and life as a whole. But, despite this, her family developed close-knit and friendly relations that turned Svetlana into a very kind, honest and decent person. Her friends and relatives loved to repeat these qualities more than once.
The first work on the big screen
During her training in one of the most prestigious theater studios, which was under the care of the Moscow Theater of Young Spectators, seventeen-year-old Balashova Svetlana received her first, very significant, work in big cinema. The debut of the young beauty was the film of Heinrich Hovhannisyan “The Adventures of Krosh”, based on the popular novel of the time by Anatoly Rybakov with the same name. In this film, Svetlana played the role of Vera Semechkina, the best friend of the main character, Nastya. The viewer really remembered this “lively and light” character, and Balashova came her first resounding success. The next morning after the premiere, she felt popular, more and more people began to recognize her on the streets.
Studying acting
In the early sixties, Svetlana Balashova entered the theater studio at the Moscow Youth Theater. Her training is directed by the venerable, very famous in narrow circles mentor Pavel Osipovich Chomsky. He often singled out among other students the girl’s talent for playing roles in puppet shows, which later played a huge role in her creative life: she devoted almost all her theatrical activities to working with dolls.
