How to make thick jam from apples
The recipe for apple jam is simple: cut three kilograms of apples into quarters and remove the core. Put in a wide pan and fill with a small amount of water, boil for no more than ten minutes. Once the apples are soft, drain the water, and wipe the fruit through a sieve.
You can also mashed with a blender - itβs faster, but small pieces of skin can be caught in the jam, which does not need to be removed during cooking, because it contains the most nutrients, as well as pectin, which makes apple jam more thick. Next, add 2 kg of granulated sugar to the mass, mix and put again on the stove, and when it boils, reduce the heat to a minimum. Cook, stirring until necessary density, making sure that the jam is not burnt. It is for this reason that some housewives put a pan with the future jam in the oven - there it definitely does not burn, but this is inconvenient if a large amount of product is being prepared at a time.

Also, apple jam can be prepared by rubbing the same amount of apples on a coarse grater, sprinkle with sugar (per 1 kg of apples - 650 grams of sugar) and leave for a couple of hours so that the fruit mass can drain the juice. Next, put the pan on the stove (it is better if it will be with a thick bottom) and cook, stirring, until necessary density. Jam according to this recipe can be prepared in several approaches: let it boil for 15-20 minutes, then turn it off and leave it overnight under a lid, and continue the next day. This method makes the finished jam more fragrant and thick.
If the product is procured for the future, then still hot it must be laid out in clean, sterilized jars and tightly rolled up with tin lids using a special machine, then at any time of the year you can open the jar and prepare a delicious jam cake for home-made tea drinking.
Apple Pie
A pie with a cup of tea or milk is very home-made, and it is unlikely that any person will refuse such a treat, especially if it is prepared with their own hands.
The simplest recipe for apple jam pie:
- 800 grams of ready-made frozen dough: you can take yeast or puff pastry - which one is more like. Defrost and divide into two parts. We roll one out to the size of the baking dish, and the second just a thin layer.
- The bottom of the form is lined with dough, be sure to form sides approximately three centimeters high. It is very convenient in such cases to use a detachable form - then there will be no problems with the extraction of the finished pie.
- On the surface of the dough in the form, distribute an even layer of 500 grams of apple jam.
- From the remaining dough with a curly knife, cut out strips one cm wide and lay them out on the cake with a lattice (at right angles) or a net (diagonally) at a small distance from each other.
- Lubricate the top of the cake with a beaten egg and send it to the oven, heated to 200-220 degrees and bake until cooked. Already cooled cut into portions.
This kind of cake (from any dough) is prepared in just half an hour, but it is incredibly tasty, especially with fresh milk.

For its preparation, the usual shortcrust pastry is prepared (each mistress has a recipe for it), then it is divided into two equal parts: one part is frozen in the refrigerator, the other is rolled out according to the size of the baking dish. We cover it with a layer of apple jam mixed with a glass of chopped nuts, and on top using a grater with large holes we rub the frozen dough, also covering it with an even layer of jam. Sprinkle the top of the pie with another half glass of walnuts and send it to bake. A cake is baked in the oven at a standard temperature of 200 degrees until cooked and before serving, but after cooling, cut into cute squares.
