Biography
Yuri Belenky was born in a small town Makeevka in the territory of modern Donetsk region. He was born in 1956.
After school, he left for the capital. He entered the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University, which he graduated in 1985.
He went to work in the cinema and on television. He was a director, producer, screenwriter. He appeared on television already in 1992. His debut project was the script for the criminal action movie Rudolf Fruntova "Fools die on Fridays."

From 1996 to 1997, Yuri Belenky was the director of one of the first Russian comedy sitcoms, Strawberry. In its style, it resembles the successful 1990s series "On-duty pharmacy."
In the Russian version, the action takes place in a private cafe owned by the Koshkin family. Together with their friends and acquaintances, they constantly find themselves in various ridiculous and comical situations. In total, 164 episodes were released.
Belenky has several dozens of projects. The most famous of them are one of the first domestic youth series about schoolchildren “Simple Truths”, the detective series “The Return of Mukhtar”, the historical drama “Institute of Noble Maidens”, based on the memoirs of students of these educational institutions.

Belenky is currently divorced. In 1984, his son Mikhail was born, and two years later, his daughter Pauline.
