Roberto Zanetti is a musician from Italy better known by the stage names Savage and Robix. His songs and compositions became famous and popular not only in Italy, but also in many other countries of the world, including Russia.
Start
Singer Roberto Zanetti, whose biography is related to music, was born in the town of Massa (Tuscany, Italy) on November 28, 1956. At the age of 14, he began to learn to play the piano and soon fell in love with music, realizing that it would become the center of his future career. Roberto worked with musical groups in a comprehensive school, and later entered the university. Playing with different compositions became so important that Roberto decided to make a musical career and to assemble a professional group, which he called Taxi.
This was the period when Roberto began to invent songs, first in the sweet-sounding and commercial genre, and then in the style of dance. In 1983, he made the first single for his band Taxi called "In Miami". The record was successful, but only in Italy (the single was released only in its central part).
Next works
After these first experiments, Roberto began to collaborate with two local DJs and together with them he released a work called Incantation by Gang. This composition, a cover version of Mike Oldfield's single, has become very popular in Italy. As a result, he was offered to collaborate with the recording studio Discomagic, which began to distribute his songs and became Roberto's partner in the future.
In October-November 1983, Roberto created 4 other recordings: Buenas Noches, Starman, Magic Carillon, and finally his most successful single: Don't Cry Tonight. It was Roberto's first, real, great success, and at the same time he decided to call himself Robyx, using this name and in the role of producer. This professional name was taken from school when Roberto painted for a school newspaper with a friend Fabrizio Bonini. One of the heroes of their work was the rich and famous rock star Robyx.
Savage and own studio
In subsequent years (1984-1986) Roberto Zanetti devoted himself entirely to the Savage project, successfully creating a collection of Tonight and several singles (Only You, A Love Again, Love Is Death, Losing You). Following this, Roberto concentrated his work on show programs and tours throughout Europe, becoming popular in selected countries of Eastern Europe, such as Poland and Russia.
In late 1986, Roberto decided to establish his own personal recording studio (Casablanca Recordings), where he also had the headquarters of his production company, named Robyx. It should be noted that all past recordings were created in the Italian recording studio Scaccomatto (Lavagna). Roberto began his own musical career as a self-taught producer. As a keyboard player, he quickly learned how to use computers and digital technology, which should have been the basis for future dance music.
Rap work
In 1988, Robyx embarked on a fresh project, which he simply had to have great success all over the world: Ice MC. Its appearance is entertaining, to say the least: Zanetti Roberto composed a song for his own performance, and then sang it. However, later he decided to change the lyrics, change it to rap. To do this, he invited Ian Campbell, a British guy of Jamaican descent, as a rapper. Ian has not worked as a disco dancer so far. Thus, the song Easy was recorded, and later became a real hit in Europe. Roberto sang all solo parts except rap, but decided to less often appear in the group, calling it Ice MC.
Ice MC was in great demand all over the world, so international tours began. While Ian traveled, making shows and promoting the image, Roberto Zanetti, whose photo is already familiar to every fan of this musical direction, took care of organizing and composing notes. Robyx invested all his energy in the Ice MC project, as he felt that he had a great future.
