Candide in the form of a solution is a clear, colorless, viscous liquid from the manufacturer Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. The main active ingredient of the drug is clotrimazole, auxiliary - propylene glycol.
Candide (solution): mechanism of action
Clotrimazole is practically not absorbed when applied topically, more precisely, it is absorbed minimally. This substance is a derivative of imidazole, and has an antifungal effect associated with impaired synthesis of ergosterol in the cell membrane of fungi, which can cause damage to the cell wall. Ergosterol is the main component of the cytoplasm of fungi. Clotrimazole, in turn, binds to the synthesis of ergosterol and its concentration affects its effect. In addition, the spectrum of action of clotrimazole is very wide: it is very effective against yeast fungi, dermatophytes, has an antimicrobial effect on streptococci, staphylococci and the pathogen of erythrasma, and is effective against trichomonads.
Candide (solution): instructions for use
