Apples and cabbage are two products that combine very well. In Slavic cuisine, they are a must component of various vegetable dishes, as well as homemade preparations. We will discuss some of them.

Usually harvested apples soaked in cabbage. The simplest recipe looks like this. Chop cabbage (about 10 kg) with a thin straw. Use winter grades for harvesting. The leaves in such heads are denser and after souring retain their elasticity and crispiness better. Thin slices apples (3 kg or a little more). Traditionally healthy, strong specimens of anise, antonovka, simirenko are soaked in brine. Jonathan is also suitable. Add anise (seeds, gram 50). To make apples soaked with cabbage tastier, use salt (200 g) as usual. Mix all ingredients, add allspice. Put in salting dishes, put the yoke on top and put in a cold place. The resulting salad, when the ingredients are sour, is very tasty and aromatic.

Original and no less tasty apples are soaked with cabbage, if you add grapes, plums and special spices to them. Consumption of products looks like this. 10 kg of cabbage requires 2-3 kg of apples, per kilogram of plums and grapes, a bunch of twigs with leaves from cherries (pieces 20-25) and salt - 250-260 grams. How to connect all this and what will come out in the end? Cabbage can just be chopped heads into 5-6 parts. The nuance of this workpiece is that the components must be cut into large pieces. The apples themselves (soaked with cabbage afterwards) are divided into quarters, do not take out the seeds. Divide the plums only into halves, remove the seeds. Wash the grapes well. Put all the ingredients in a bowl, add salt, mix gently. Now do this: put the cherry on the bottom of the barrel or pan. Do not spare the twigs, let them be 2 layers, as required by prescription. Arrange apples with cabbage and berries on them. On top again, as much cherry. Squeeze the pickle with yoke, take it out to a cool room. After 2 weeks, your soaked apples with cabbage in fruit and berry brine are ready!

And finally, if you want to make pickles in a classic way, without additional ingredients, proceed as follows. As in the previous recipe, cut the heads of cabbage into large pieces. Apples - in 6 parts, with seeds. Mix both ingredients in a barrel or pan. In order to make your soaked apples in cabbage more delicious, the recipe recommends using mint leaves as seasoning. Products are poured with boiling brine (25 g of salt and 100 g of sugar are taken for each liter of water). Close the lid carefully and place in a cool place. When the pickling is ready, you will be pleasantly surprised by its wonderful taste! By the way, it can be varied if you include red beets in the composition of the ingredients, which should be peeled and cut into thin circles, and carrots (do the same). But leave the composition of the marinade the same, it is quite suitable for these vegetables.
