Olga Yakovleva was born in 1941 in the city of Tambov. Her family had nothing to do with the world of art: her father ran the factory, and her mother raised children in kindergarten.

From childhood, Olga was distinguished by her artistry. Mom noticed her daughter’s abilities and took her to a theater studio. Then the family began to move often in connection with the new appointments of his father in the service. By the time she left school, Yakovleva was with her parents in Alma-Ata.

In this city, the girl liked the leadership of the local Youth Theater so much that she was invited to the troupe of the theater. However, Yakovleva wanted more, so she gained courage and went to enter a theater university in Moscow.
