Problems associated with the gastrointestinal tract are relevant today. All hospitals and clinics deal with their treatment. Various observations and experiments are conducted, during which new methods of treating these diseases are discovered.
One of the most common diseases in the modern world is esophagitis reflux. It is also called gastroesophageal reflux disease. This disease is associated with a violation of the closure function of the lower sphincter, through which the esophageal canal passes. The disease is caused by the fact that the contents of the stomach have a negative effect on the mucous membrane of the esophagus.
It turns out that the acidic contents of the stomach enter the esophagus, while not encountering any obstacles in its path. In the esophagus, in turn, the alkaline environment is normal. From this we can conclude that the symptoms of esophagitis reflux consist in the inflammatory process in the esophagus, as well as in terrible discomfort and often severe pain.
Symptoms of esophagitis reflux may, however, vary depending on the frequency of occurrence, intensity, and also duration. The number of symptoms increases as the disease progresses, and therefore they begin to appear quite often and intensively.
The first symptom of the disease is a progressive habit of drinking food with water or an increasing desire to drink after a cigarette has been smoked. Among the symptoms, heartburn should be noted. It represents a burning sensation inside, as well as the spreading heat in the stomach.
Moreover, all these sensations last for a long time, arising behind the sternum or under the spoon. If you bend over or lie down, then heartburn will increase. Heartburn, like all other symptoms of esophagitis reflux, will occur due to prolonged contact of the acidic contents and the mucous membrane of the esophagus.
No less frequent symptom of this disease is pain, and quite severe, behind the sternum or in the epigastric region. Very often, pain behind the sternum is confused with pain caused by angina pectoris, but this is not so.
Pain with esophagitis reflux can be consolidated not only behind the sternum, but also spread to its left. There is a group of patients who develop pains of varying intensity in the back of the chest, that is, at the level of the sternum, and they occur after smoking or in a horizontal position. They become especially strong during the night.
Symptoms of reflux esophagitis can be detected using various methods, such as radiography of the esophagus, its pH-metry, sounding, and endoscopy. After all the symptoms are revealed, all other diseases are excluded, it's time to start treatment.
The best treatment is a reflux esophagitis diet. The first thing to do with this disease is to normalize the diet. It is best to take food no more than three or four times a day, while you need to eat without haste, without rushing, chewing food should be especially carefully.
If you want to quickly get rid of all the symptoms of the disease, it is necessary to exclude overeating, quick snacks on the go, fast food, which is abundant in fats, and it is also worth abandoning foods and drinks rich in caffeine.
So, as you can see, nutrition for esophagitis reflux must be carefully organized. If we talk about drug treatment, that all medications should be taken only after consultation with your doctor. As a rule, they take antacids, for example, maalox, H2 blockers of histamine receptors, such as ranitidine or famotidine. You can take a decoction of flax, cerucal or cisapride.
If drug treatment does not bring any results, a simple normalization of the diet is not enough, then you should consult a surgical procedure.
