In his youth, the boy was seriously interested in sports, attending rowing training . The guy had every chance to become a famous athlete. Upon reaching adulthood, Borovikov was awarded the title of master of sports in the discipline presented. However, by the will of fate, everything turned out differently. To achieve heights in sports, Alexander repeatedly had to resort to the use of doping. In the morning, Borovikov taught physical education classes, then unloaded boxes of vegetables at the market, and at the same time found time to attend rowing training. Such a stressful regime made the guy extremely hot-tempered, irritable and unfriendly to others.

Noticing changes in the character of Alexander, his rowing partner Vladimir Yakovlev advised changing his occupation, hinting at the presence of a friend of artistic inclinations. At first, what seemed like a joke soon became a reality. Borovikov came to the Moscow Art Theater Studio to take entrance exams. Here he was to read a monologue from the work “Virgin Soil Upturned” before such meters of the Soviet theater scene as Mikhail Efremov, Evgeny Evstigneev and Oleg Tabakov. The result was unexpected not only for the guy himself, but also for his entourage. He was successfully enrolled in a prestigious university and received an increased scholarship. It is noteworthy that Alexander Borovikov took first place at the reader competition and went around Vladimir Mashkov himself, who also passed the exams for admission to the Moscow Art Theater.

Alexander Borovikov began acting in films in 1987, when he was entrusted with a small episodic role of a sailor in the film "Brother, love the revolution." It is easy to guess that the appearance of a novice actor in the picture remained almost unnoticed.

True fame and wide recognition of the young artist brought participation in the filming of the film by the respected Soviet director Igor Gostev under the title "Lawlessness". The picture, which was released on wide screens in 1989, told a touching story about the hard workdays of prisoners in prison. Alexander Borovikov managed to organically get used to the image of a notorious felon nicknamed Pop. Then, on the actor, as if from a cornucopia, suggestions for filming from the most famous directors rained down.

In the late 80s, Borovikov began a romantic relationship with one of the first beauties of the Soviet Union - the young actress Olga Drozdova. After passing several months, the couple filed documents with the registry office. However, Alexander’s young wife quickly didn’t get along well with her mother-in-law. The artist’s mother hinted that Olga married him solely for the purpose of obtaining a Moscow residence permit. There was an inevitable divorce, the cause of which was not only domestic turmoil, but also Drozdova’s desire to devote all her free time to developing her own career.

Today, Alexander has a relationship with an ordinary teacher who has never had a relationship with high art. The couple still lives happily in the actor’s Moscow apartment.
