The right choice of shrimp is an important component of the process of their preparation. Small shrimp, marked 70/90 or 90/120, are more suitable for beer. These numbers indicate the approximate amount of shrimp in 1 kg. Most often boiled-frozen shrimps are found in stores, i.e. they donβt need to be boiled anymore, it is enough to pour over boiling water to defrost. Such a product cannot be cooked or stewed, but it is perfectly possible to fry. Large shrimps are more suitable for grilling.
The choice of beer is not easy in itself, but for me this issue has long been resolved, I prefer dark beer Amadeus. The decision how to make shrimp for beer depends only on whether I have enough time for this or that recipe. I have tried several recipes, and each of them is within the power of any, even the most inexperienced housewife.
Making shrimp for beer with sauce
For 1 kg of shrimp you will need:
- 4 cloves of garlic;
- ground or dry chili pepper;
- salt;
- blue cheese (Dor Blue - my constant choice);
- vegetable oil;
- Bay leaf;
- dill;
- green onions;
- parsley;
- cream - 100ml.
First of all (this is a strict rule for each recipe) I put beer in the refrigerator. Shrimps are not the smallest I buy - medium ones have more tender meat. I try to take not boiled, but just freshly frozen, but then how lucky. Shrimps need to be thawed - for this I put them in a colander, put them in the sink and pour boiling water over the kettle. Making shrimp for beer does not endure fuss.
Now marina. Sprinkle shrimp with pepper (or a mixture of peppers), salt, add bay leaf, squeeze the garlic into them. Mix and leave - you need to prepare the sauce.
Finely chop all the greens, blue cheese, cream and a little salt. Yes, I almost forgot! - and 2 cloves of crushed garlic. I mix everything, kneading the cheese into small pieces.
I heat the oil in a pan and fry the shrimps on high heat for no longer than 4-5 minutes, otherwise they will be stiff. I put the finished shrimp on the dish in a ring, sprinkle with herbs, and put a bowl with sauce in the center. Easy and quick beer shrimp recipe , right? Do not forget to get beer from the refrigerator!
Shrimp for beer in batter
This dish will require a little more time, but the result will exceed all your expectations. Making shrimp for beer is almost a rite, requiring remarkable willpower.
In addition to shrimp, you will need:
- flour, beer, olive oil and egg white - for batter;
- shrimp (peeled);
- lemon;
- soy sauce, garlic, salt;
- olive a little for frying.
First thing what? - right, I put the beer in the fridge. I make a batter - 50-60 g of flour and beer, a spoonful of olive oil and egg yolk, the batter should be the consistency of dough for pancakes. The dough should stand for 1.5-2 hours (the only drawback of this recipe).
I defrost shrimps, it is better in the natural way. I have enough time for this while the batter is standing. Now marinate them in soy sauce with crushed garlic for 5-7 minutes. I take it out of the marinade, dry it, dip it in batter and fry in a very hot pan, in any vegetable oil.
When serving, sprinkle with lemon juice and serve with beer with any sauce, with soy, curry sauce is great.
Breaded shrimp
How to cook breaded shrimp in beer? It is simple and very tasty, try it!
Ingredients:
- 900g-1kg king prawns;
- 1-2 eggs;
- flour;
- salt;
- water;
- any vegetable oil;
- soy sauce;
- breadcrumbs.
Before preparing shrimp for beer, I defrost them, as always (I leave the tails). I put them in a separate container and pour soy sauce to taste. I do not salt!
Now I mix batter - eggs, flour, salt and water, the batter should look like liquid sour cream. I pour breadcrumbs into a deep plate - the larger the better. The procedure is as follows: holding the shrimp by the tail, dip it in batter, then breaded in breadcrumbs - and in a heated skillet with squash butter. They fry quickly, so don't yawn.
Serve with any sauce. For example, in cream, melt cream cheese and add a bit of curry.
