The drug "Prednisolone" is a synthetic analogue of the hormones hydrocortisone and cortisone (secreted by the adrenal cortex). Unlike natural hormones, Prednisolone Nycomed does not hold large amounts of water and sodium in the body. The tool has an antiexudative, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and antitoxic effect. With skin diseases, the ointment is quite effective in combating symptoms, providing an antiproliferative effect. The results are visible very quickly, but you can not abuse the tool to avoid the occurrence of numerous side effects.

"Prednisolone Ointment" can penetrate the placental barrier. Traces of the drug may be detected in breast milk.

Mode of application

Doses are assigned individually. It depends on the daily secretory rhythm of glucocorticosteroid secretion. Dose for adults - 20-30 mg per day. The ointment is applied to clean skin with a thin layer. It is recommended to monitor blood pressure, perform feces and urine tests, monitor blood sugar and ion balance. If "Prednisolone Ointment" is planned to be used for a long time, you must additionally appoint an appropriate diet that prevents the occurrence of potassium deficiency. The doctor may prescribe additional preparations containing potassium. To reduce osteoporosis, the drug "Methandrostenolone" is used.

Contraindications:

- syphilis and gonorrhea;

- senile age.

Of particular note is diabetes. "Prednisolone ointment" is prescribed for this disease only by absolute indications: for the treatment of insulin immunity. If the patient is sick with tuberculosis or infectious diseases, the drug should be used only with antibiotics.

With caution, prednisone should be used against a background of anticoagulants, barbiturates, and patients suffering from Addison's disease. When breastfeeding, the drug is prescribed as a last resort.

An overdose is unlikely. There are no specific antidotes.

The occurrence of Itsenko-Cushing's syndrome (a special symptom complex) is rarely possible.

Ointment is produced in tubes containing 10 g of the drug (0.5%).

"Prednisolone" can not be applied haphazardly, like any other hormonal drug. Closely monitor the change in your health and for any warning signs, consult a doctor.
