Preparation for drawing vegetables

Before you start, put on the table all the necessary things for drawing:

- a blank sheet of paper (cardboard);

- simple pencils (hard and soft);

- eraser;

- vegetables that you will draw from nature;

- paints, brushes and water in a jar, if you do a drawing in color.

Consider the first option - how to draw vegetables with a pencil.

First, take a hard pencil, marked H on the end. It is for them that it is best to start building, because if you do not press it hard, all the lines that make up the foundation can easily be erased. Now on the piece of paper we mark the center of the future figure, for this you can simply put a barely noticeable point. Next, you need to decide which figure underlies the fruit you have chosen.

Using a pencil, we take measurements by eye (marking the parameters with a finger, as in the photo) and transfer them to our album sheet. When measurements of all parts of the vegetable are made, you can draw straight lines from them, and thereby create a frame structure.

Now you can proceed directly to the drawing of all the details. If the measurements were made correctly before, then in the end you will need to erase only the construction lines.

When the vegetable is completely ready, you can start hatching it. Remember that it is always done in one direction in one subject and always with smooth transitions from shadow to highlight. The reflex should be slightly lighter than the shadow of the object itself, but the falling shadow, on the contrary, is the darkest place in the picture.

If you decide to give the image a color, you should learn how to draw vegetables in stages by paints. Any work begins with coloring the background behind the main objects: it can be a table and a window behind it, or the fabric on which the object lies. Next, you need to give color to the vegetable. It is first painted over with one light primary color, leaving places of glare, and then a shadow is drawn on it by a darker shade. So that all colors do not mix together, it is better to wait until each layer dries.

Circle-based vegetables

circle building

Now in more detail we will consider how to draw vegetables based on a circle. These include: tomato, onion, cabbage, potatoes, radish.

As already mentioned, put an end to. Next, measure the horizontal line by eye and transfer it to the drawing. Pencil, marked with a finger, apply to the center (point) and make a note on the left horizontally and on the right. We do the same thing up and down, also without lifting your finger. Now that you have these notes, you can draw straight lines. So we get a square in which you can easily draw a circle.

All other parts (tail, leaves) are best depicted after you erase the construction of the circle.

Oval-based vegetables

Since we figured out how to make a construction for roundish objects, we no longer have any difficulties with how to draw vegetables based on an oval. These include cucumber, carrot, eggplant, corn.

Instead of a square, you need to build a rectangle. First, take notes horizontally, and then vertically. Horizontal lines must be longer than vertical ones.

After that, we proceed to drawing an oval, and then to a more detailed drawing of the selected vegetable.

Other types of vegetables

And how to draw vegetables if they do not look like a circle or an oval? For example, such as cauliflower and salad? In this case, you can take a quadrangle as the basis of the image.
