The Air group has gained great fame, choosing the genre of electronic music. It's about a duet. Both of its members, Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunkel, were born in 1969. The birthplace of one is the exemplary and respectable city of Versailles near Paris. The second was born in the neighborhood, on the territory of the town of La Shesne.
Orange
The Air group was created by two people who met at school. In the eighties, they were students of the Lyceum Jules Ferry. Young people loved music. Together with friends, they initially organized the group Orange. The team offered their demos to record companies, but to no avail.
Modulor
Nicolas, discouraged by the failure, began to receive the education of an architect. At the same time, he persistently continued to work on the synthesizer. The Air group began its history in 1995. It was then that Nicolas proposed a company called Virgin composition Modulor. The firm then prepared Source Lab vol. 1. It mainly included instrumental works, but the influences of techno, trip-hop and pop music intertwined in them. The composition of Nicolas, already at that time using the pseudonym Air, was selected for the future collection. He came out in 1995. It became obvious how the work of our hero stands out from the rest. The composition of Modulor to taste even the classic BBC. The channel adorned her broadcasting grid.
Co-creation
Air became a duet after Nicolas reunited with Jean-Benoit Dunkel, Orange's fellow project partner. He was a mathematics teacher at that time and worked periodically as a pianist in a bar. Jean-Benoit is the owner of classical music education. He attended a piano class at the Conservatory of Versailles. Thanks to this man, the young French group became more melodic.
In 1996, in July, the team released a maxi-disc called Casanova 70. The sound traces the influence of the 70s, as well as the most melodic achievements of the variety show genre. The band Air has won fans among the British with its style. In 1997, in July, the following maxi-disk appeared under the name Le Soleil est près de moi. It's about instrumental work. From this moment on, they start talking about the group seriously. Thanks to the improving series of maxi-discs, the duets are beginning to become interested in rock masters such as Nene Cherry and Depeche Mode. They also work with France's classic electronic music, Jean-Jacques Perret.

A seventy-year-old composer with a tremendous creative fervor is involved in the creation of Remember and Cosmic Bird compositions. In parallel, in 1997, Jean-Benoit and Nicolas rented a studio in the suburbs of Paris and began recording their first full-length album. In 1998, Moon Safari simultaneously released in forty countries. The disc got 10 tracks. Mostly these were instrumental works. Vocals are present in only three compositions. The strings were recorded at a studio known as Abbey Road. The process was led by the equally famous David Whitaker. On Air rained laudatory reviews. Critics admire the magnificent performance, modern sound, accessibility, variety and ease of work. The album made a splash in the UK, and then conquered the United States.
