Pills "Midokalm"

Midokalm tablets are coated with a white film membrane, have a round biconvex shape, and have a weak specific smell. On one side there is an engraving β€œ50” or β€œ150”, two layers are visible on a cross section.

The composition of one tablet "Midokalm" includes tolperisone hydrochloride as an active ingredient. Auxiliary components: lactose monohydrate, anhydrous colloidal silicon, talc, citric acid monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, stearin, corn starch, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose 2910, macrogol 6000, titanium dioxide.

Tablets "Midokalm" belong to the clinical and pharmacological group of central muscle relaxants.

The mechanism of action of the drug remains unclear to the end. Midokalm tablets have a local anesthetic, membrane stabilizing effect. The medication is able to inhibit the conduction of impulses of neurons of motor and afferent primary fibers. This provokes the blocking of polysynaptic and monosynaptic reflexes in the spinal cord.

The ability of the drug to secondary inhibition of the release of mediators is likely. In addition, the drug eliminates the facilitated holding of excitation in the reticulospinal path. The use of Midokalm enhances peripheral blood flow, regardless of the effects of the central nervous system. With the development of this effect, weak adrenergic blocking, as well as the antispasmodic effect of tolperisone is of importance.

Good absorption from the gastrointestinal tract after oral administration is noted. The active component is metabolized in the kidneys and liver, excretion occurs in the form of metabolites by the kidneys.
