Andrei Pavlovich Suldin in the difficult 1991 decided to open a small confectionery cafe in Samara, which visitors called "At Palych". Now this brand is known not only on the Volga, but also in the capital, and even in small towns of Russia, where Ot Palych products have their fans.
How did the business begin
The cafe without a sign was very tiny. There were only four tables in it, for which sixteen people could fit. Friends of the owner, who called him easily “Palych,” and residents from nearby houses, walked into it. So the expression “sat at Palych” arose. Later they hung a sign with the already accustomed name "At Palych."
In 1994, Palych, as they continue to call him in the company, was joined by Alexander Merbaum. Together they moved the cafe to the city center, and a year later opened the U Palycha restaurant. Another fellow countryman working with them at Kompaniya-M, who wished to remain incognito.
Product range
The owners are very proud of hand-made dumplings, which are made only from Russian meat. Revenues from the restaurant and cafe completely went into this new business. They did not attract loans at that time, so the 1998 default almost did not affect them. Thus, the owners had the opportunity to expand the range. There were two reasons for this. Firstly, it is boring to work in one direction only, and secondly, as they correctly thought, if a customer likes their cakes, then they may be interested in other products. Such an approach to business, as time has shown, fully paid off.
We will pay more attention to their products designed for sweet tooth. The line of these products is large and includes a variety of cakes, pastries, gingerbread cookies, rolls, muffins. More than a hundred items of confectionery products are divided into three series: "Gold", "Classical" and "Children's".
Mass production
Everything is made from natural raw materials, so the prices from Palych are quite high. For example, the Chocolate Symphony cake, which weighs 0.48 kg, costs 571 rubles, the Cherry cake weighing 1050 grams costs 712 rubles. This is the most expensive position. You can find cheaper, but no less tasty products. Let's say the cake is “Homemade. Condensed milk with prunes "(0.36 kg, 221 rubles).
Of course, you can try to repeat everything at home, but if you use only natural products, it will not work cheaper, but a lot of time will be spent. Indeed, raw materials come to U Palycha at wholesale prices, experienced pastry chefs make cakes and other sweets, some of which have been trained abroad.

Cake "Kiev" "From Palycha": reviews
The cake is decorated with five vanilla roses and chocolate cream vignettes at the edges. Cakes are high, contain many well-worn nuts. The lighter center is softer, and the top and bottom have a crispy taste. They are darker, and therefore it seems that there are more cakes than in reality. There are only three of them, which is also a lot. The taste of roasted hazelnuts and chocolate cream is a great combination. The “Kiev” cake “From Palych” conquers even with its packaging, and then, when it is opened, its aroma full of chocolate returns to childhood and adds excitement - almost all customers think so. Saliva starts to flow before the kettle boils. And later disappointment does not come, but there is a rapture created by the confectioners, a chocolate-nut tale. Many consider it to be the best that they have tried lately, although they think that the prices of Ot Palych cakes are high.
