Duodenal ulcer: causes and treatment

Duodenal ulcer, as a rule, is the most frequent disruption of the digestive tract. As a result of the disease, ulcers form on the affected organ.

In itself, a duodenal ulcer is a common chronic disease that, in the absence of proper treatment, constantly manifests itself. The main reasons for the appearance of peptic ulcer are considered to be disruptions in the mechanisms regulating various functions of the digestive tract and 12 duodenal ulcer. This is facilitated by prolonged mental overstrain of the human body, diseases of the internal organs in a chronic form (for example, appendicitis, cholecystitis or stones in the gallbladder). Also, peptic ulcer can develop in case of malnutrition, abuse of tobacco and alcohol products, when taking medications without the supervision of a doctor, with poor heredity.

A duodenal ulcer is almost always accompanied by pain in the upper abdomen. Very often, pain manifests itself at night, which, of course, worries a person. Moreover, when the food enters the esophagus, the pain subsides for a short while, but then again makes itself felt. It should also be noted, a duodenal ulcer is often accompanied by a variety of dyspeptic symptoms. These include heartburn, specific belching, nausea, vomiting, flatulence, bloating, stool disorders, a constant feeling of hunger and others. In some cases, a duodenal ulcer proceeds without symptoms, therefore complicating the possibility of diagnosis at an early stage.

A necessary measure for diseases of the digestive tract (which include a duodenal ulcer) is a diet with which treatment will be much more effective. Of course, it is recommended to exclude alcoholic beverages and completely stop smoking. Also, reduce the consumption of various seasonings and hot spices that stimulate excessive acid production. It is advisable to increase the amount of dairy products used (milk, cream).

If you still have a duodenal ulcer, food is selected only after consulting a specialist. As a rule, the main foods allowed for peptic ulcer are wheat bread, vegetable soups, low-fat fish, low-fat meat, chicken meat, dry cookies, any kind of sweet fruit, various cereals, honey, dairy products, mild cheese, etc. .d. Freshly baked pastries, fatty meats, fatty fish, fried eggs, salted vegetables, chocolate, smoked meats, hot seasonings, canned food, sour berries and fruits, various carbonated and alcoholic drinks are strictly contraindicated.

Diagnosis of the disease is carried out by various methods. The most common are endoscopy, taking tests (blood, feces, vomiting), x-ray, palpation.
The goal of quality treatment is to destroy the bacteria, which is the cause of peptic ulcer. Therefore, a duodenal ulcer involves the use of antibiotics and drugs aimed at neutralizing hydrochloric acid, which is part of the gastric juice. Thanks to these preparations, the walls of the stomach are enveloped with a protective film, which interferes with further damage to the body.

Surgery is much less common. As a rule, indications for surgery are opened internal bleeding and perforated ulcers.
In the absence of timely treatment, complications may occur in the form of bleeding that has opened, which often leads to death.
To prevent a disease or a possible relapse, it is recommended to follow a diet, lead a healthy lifestyle, reduce the likelihood of stressful situations, etc.
