First song
The work begins as follows. Pirates feast on the island. Their kingdom is above an infinite foamy wave. Joy is a fight, a storm. They don’t know fear, death is boring to them, because the pirates have quick death, souls instantly break the connection with the world, as their song says. Conrad is the leader of the pirates. He knows only the order, stingy in speech. The hand of this hero is firm, the eye is sharp and sharp. Conrad behaves like a righteous man - he does not participate in feasts, does not eat luxurious food, is the enemy of everything sensual - simple and severe. He enjoys great authority among pirates. None of them not only dare to challenge the orders of their commander, but do not even bother to do so for no particular reason.
Meet the protagonist
Byron's Corsair continues. Here the pirates notice the ship in the distance. It soon turns out that this is a pirate brig walking under a blood-red flag. Good news arrived. Greek, a spy, writes that finally there was a great opportunity to rob the rich fleet of the Turkish Pasha himself. Conrad, after reading his message, decides to hit the road immediately. He orders the team to prepare for battle, check weapons. No one dares to argue with Conrad. The author describes this most skilled strategist, the ruler of souls, disconnected from everyone by secret. This hero was not always a pirate. The reason for his current malice on the world lies in the past. Conrad was wise, but the light thought differently, spoiled him with his training. The hero did not want to, humble, eke out a miserable life. He was too proud for that. He could not humiliate himself in front of others.
Love Conrad
Konrad is subject to the only passion - love. He mutually and happily loves Medora, while not paying attention to the many beautiful captives living on the island of pirates. Before a dangerous trip, he is going to say goodbye to his lover, so he goes to her castle. At the room of Medora, the hero hears a sad song. The girl sings of love for Conrad, who knows no peace, because her lovers are forced to constantly leave, and Medora lives, forever fearing for the life of a pirate. The girl dreams that one day peace will bring them into a peaceful house. She wonders why her gentle lover is so cruel to people. He tells Medore that he is forced to hit the road again. She is upset, invites her lover to at least taste the festive meal together. The hero, however, cannot stay. It's time to speak: he hears the cannon honking. Conrad leaves, kissing the girl. Medora, left alone, cries.
The beginning of the battle
Byron's Corsair continues. The hero returns to the ship. He does not want to lose honor because of “female torment”. Again, he turns into a decisive commander, orders, gives orders, so that the comrades in three days will wait for them at the victory feast. Konrad reveals sea charts, looks into a telescope, checking them, suddenly notices a galley Turkish fleet. But the hero is calm. He calls calmly to his comrades, saying that it is time to start the massacre.
Second song
We turn to the description of the second song of the work that Byron ("Corsair") created. A summary of her events is as follows. Seyid Pasha, in honor of his future victories, made a feast. He wants to defeat the pirates, capture these sea robbers, and then share the rich booty between his people. Many Muslims gathered under his banner. They lead to Seyid Pasha a dervish who escaped from a pirate ship. It turns out to be a disguised Conrad. It is accepted to interrogate Seyid Pasha. But as if the dervish was pulling time. He says that he is a worthless spy, since his gaze is directed only to escape. Pirates, according to the dervish, are careless and stupid. The guards overslept his flight, therefore, the Pasha fleet also overslept. The latter orders to feed the disguised Conrad, but he does not eat anything, explaining that this is his vow. After all, if he begins to enjoy the pleasures of life, the Prophet will block his path to Mecca. But it seems from the outside that for the condemned to labor and fasting he behaves strangely, as Byron (“Corsair”) notes. Hero pirates at this time attack the Turks, put those to flight, catching them by surprise.
Victory and defeat
Konrad rips off the dervish’s robes and shows up as a demon of evil. This pirate fights heroically, the Pasha himself retreats in front of him, having forgotten about the harem. Konrad forbids offending women, saying that pirates were born to die and kill, but the gentle sex should always be spared. He himself takes Gulnar, the decoration of the harem. Seid Pasha sees how few pirates. He is ashamed that such a squad managed to defeat him, and he orders an attack. There are many more Muslims, and therefore a squad of pirates soon killed almost the whole, only some manage to escape. Captured by Conrad.
Love Gulnar
In a safe place, this pirate hid Gulnar. She thinks that this robber in her blood seems to her more tender than in Seyd's love. The girl understands that the latter only saved himself, and Conrad primarily cared for women. An agonizing execution decides to execute this pirate Seyid Pasha. He is thinking of putting him on a stake and imprisoning until morning. Lonely, Conrad was defeated, but the will managed to breathe courage into his chest. The prisoner, shackled in shackles, keeps himself with dignity.

The Corsair (George Byron) continues with the next batch. Miraculously, the surviving pirates come to Medora, tell her that Conrad found himself in captivity. She accepts the blow of fate with restraint, without screaming and tears. Upon learning the details, Medora loses consciousness. Friends of the pirate take care of her, and then tell the remaining instead of Conrad Anselmo about what happened. He wants to go to rescue the pirate from captivity, and if he has already died, then avenge his death.
Gulnar wants to soften the pasha, to convince that he will only win if he does not execute this pirate. After all, he will find out where there are innumerable riches, and will be able to take possession of them. But adamant is Pasha. Treasures do not interest him. Pasha agrees to postpone the reprisal for a day, but only in order to have more time and come up with a new execution, even more sophisticated. He humiliates Gulnar, suspecting that she is not just standing up for Conrad, reminds her that her life is in his power.
The killing of Seyid Pasha
Gulnar realizes that it is only a thing in the hands of Seyid Pasha. At midnight, the girl comes to Corsair, having bribed a guard, persuades the pirate to kill the master (brings a knife for this) and to be saved together. Conrad again refuses: the sword is his weapon, not a knife, and he does not want to attack from around the corner at night. The pirate understands that he deserved to be executed because he sinned a lot. He urges the girl to leave him, to be happy, not to marry his life with murder. Gulnar says that her well-being with Pasha is illusory - at any moment she may bother him. The girl decides to kill Seyid, and if she can’t do it, then die on the scaffold with Konrad. Gulnar leaves.
Conrad discovers that the door is not locked in his dungeon. He walks around the palace at night, picking up the shackles, sees Gulnar. She turns around and the pirate notices on her forehead her stigma of murder. It seems to him that beauty has gone with him. Gulnar reports that she has gathered people that the ship is waiting for him. She brings him ashore in secret. While swimming, Gulnar notices that his icy, empty gaze is like a sentence. She is crying, but Conrad does not blame her, but rather reproaches herself, as Byron (Corsair) notes. The analysis of the internal motives of the heroes by the author is quite deep. Anselmo's ship and his comrades, who were about to release him, were moving towards them. All happily go back. Gulnar did not say that it was she who saved Conrad. Conrad knows that He will be punished by Heaven, but pity the girl. He hugs, kisses her, knowing that Medora would forgive this kiss.
Death of Medora
A ship approaches the island. Conrad does not see the light in the window of Medora. He rises to her and sees that the girl is dead. The pirate understands that this is punishment for transgressions. Medora will go to heaven, and Konrad the road there is closed, and they will no longer see each other. He is crying.
Anselmo enters the girl's room in the morning. But the leader disappeared. Since then, no one knows whether he is alive or not. The glory of this pirate has been living for centuries, as well as the glory that George Gordon Byron deserved for his work.
