Margarita is a classic cocktail, which is undoubtedly present in the menu of any restaurant or bar. This cocktail is an original solution, the secret of which is in combination of several different tastes. It tequila flawlessly tinted with citrus notes, and the highlight was the salt, due to which the taste of lime does not become as sharp as it actually is.
As with many other drinks, the Margarita (cocktail) recipe is shrouded in confusion and mystery. It's all about its name. Here, some stories contradict others. But in each there is an invariable fact - a beautiful and mysterious woman named Margarita.
According to various sources, this famous cocktail appeared somewhere in 1936-1948. All stories associated with this drink are necessarily romantic in nature. According to the first, in 1936, the manager of the Crespo Hotel, Danny Negrete, after a wonderful night of love with his beloved Margarita, specially invented for her a recipe for Margarita - a cocktail that combined everything that his lady of the heart loved so much. He combined tequila, Cointreau orange liqueur and lemon juice in it.
According to the second story, in 1938, on a simple working day, a provincial girl named Margarita, who dreamed of becoming an actress, entered a Mexican bar. A visitor to the bar captivated the bartender Carlos Harrer with his beauty and charm. And he, inspired by her, came up with a recipe for Margarita - a cocktail that he dedicated to her.
The latest history says that in 1948, at a luxury villa in Acapulco , Texas, an aristocrat named Margarita Sames arranged a social event for her guests. She invented the recipe for Margarita (a cocktail, then still nameless). The socialite impressed her guests with a cocktail, the basis of which was tequila of its own production. One of the guests, the owner of the Hilton hotel chain, Tommy Hilton, was indescribably delighted with the drink. And the very next day, this cocktail called Margarita was on the menu of all restaurants and bars.
