Cervical endocervicosis is a state of movement of the cervical canal mucosa to the vaginal region of the cervix. The reasons for the development of this pathology have not yet been conclusively established. Among women, this disease is better known as ectopia or pseudo-erosion. This ailment refers to background diseases, after which in some cases a malignant tumor develops.
Cervical endocervicosis in a simple form is characterized by the presence of glandular structures that do not have signs of increased education. Proliferating forms are characterized by neoplasm of glandular structures. This indicates a progressive course. Glandular pseudo-erosion is characterized by the presence of glandular formations in the underlying stroma. Moreover, inflammatory infiltration is often observed around them.
Cervical endocervicosis is characterized by a violation in integrity and changes in the epithelial cover of the cervix. Examination using mirrors reveals areas of bright red color surrounding its external pharynx.
Cervical endocervicosis can occur due to an inflammatory disease (usually viral) in it, trauma, due to the use of chemical or barrier contraceptives, or may result from improper douching.
The clinical manifestations of the disease include the development of pseudo-erosion, characterized by an increase in secret epithelium, spreading to the outer region of the cervix. This phenomenon, as a rule, accompanies an unstable hormonal background during puberty. Ectopia refers to background (benign) conditions that do not pose a threat of complications.
However, in many cases, the development of the disease is accompanied by a number of complications.
The formation of ectopia increases the risk of penetration of gonococci, chlamydia, herpes virus (simple). This is due to the lack of protective function in the secretory epithelium.
In addition, the acidic environment in the vagina contributes to the development of the ectopy "self-healing" process, in which the secretory is replaced by a stratified squamous epithelium. However, it should be noted that the course of this complex multi-stage process in some cases is not benign. Healing ectopia is a favorite site for the papilloma virus. Sexually transmitted, it provokes the development of various diseases of the cervix (from genital warts to precancerous conditions and cancer).
For a more accurate diagnosis of the disease, histological and cytological examination is used. The histological method includes cutting off a small area of ββthe damaged epithelium and examining it for malignant degeneration. When cytological examination, smears are taken and examined under a microscope. A biopsy is used to finalize the diagnosis and select a therapeutic course.
Cervical endocervicosis: treatment
Therapy is carried out on an outpatient basis. Treatment methods are prescribed by a gynecologist. Among the most effective therapeutic methods, the following methods are distinguished.
The traditional method is cauterization (diathermocoagulation) using elevated temperatures. Today, this method, as a rule, is applied to giving birth to patients with benign ectopia. After this type of therapy, the cervix may lose elasticity. This, in turn, has an adverse effect on future births.
Cryodestruction is a method of influencing pathological areas with liquid gas. The disadvantages of this method include a possible lack of tissue freezing, which leads to incomplete death of the affected cells.
For patients diagnosed with this disease (including chronic endocervicosis), surgical laser therapy may be prescribed. It should be noted that this method of exposure is the most effective and modern of all methods. When using it, it is possible to brew vessels of even the smallest caliber, preserve the integrity of healthy tissues and high accuracy of the incision.
