The Age of the Dead series was released in 2009 and 2010. It consisted of the books "Beginning", "Moscow" and "Breakthrough". It, like in the next series “I am going home”, tells about two families living in parallel in Russia and America.

In the fictional world, many ideas about the zombie apocalypse are described in detail. How could our life have changed if it had nevertheless become a reality and actually happened. In particular, it describes the process of how a virus breaks out of a secret biological laboratory, becoming completely uncontrollable. People in different countries are trying to survive, forming military and tactical groups.

In the novel, the virus was originally created as a medicine that was supposed to improve the immunity of the living. But the drug was so effective that it began to resurrect the dead.

Over time, zombies began to develop, mutating into strong and high-speed monsters that could hide well in shelters. In addition, it turned out that the virus is able to infect predators and omnivores. Only cats were not susceptible to it. When bitten, they experience severe pain, but do not become infected and do not turn into zombies.

Interestingly, Cruz's zombies are almost always silent, because the lungs in a dead body do not work, so they simply can not talk. Those who died a natural death also turn into monsters.
