Concentrated alcohol tincture, the strength of which reaches 40–45 degrees, is considered to be a balm. Almost all balms are used in medicine, and not in the gastronomic industry. Most often they are sold in dark ceramic bottles that protect the liquid from UV radiation and air. Small concentrations of the alcoholic beverage are added to pastries, snacks, alcoholic cocktails and main dishes. Below we talk about the famous balm and methods of its use.
Ishim balm
This drink has been produced since 1992. It was released and developed specifically for the 90th anniversary of the Ishim Wine and Vodka Factory. The drink has a unique recipe. Its strength is 45%. The balm is available in the following volumes: 0.1 liter, 0.25 liter and 0.5 liter. Packaging can be either ceramic or gift. The infusion has a dark brown hue and a spicy, slightly burning taste. The aroma of the balm is peculiar, without the smell of the individual components.
Structure
The Ishim balm contains 33 natural ingredients of plant origin. These include: dried rosehips, yarrow, licorice root, bird cherry, red mountain ash, galangal, wormwood, oregano, St. John’s wort, sweet clover, bison, juniper, coriander, orange and nutmeg, laurel, black pepper, lemon balm, orange , hyssop, mint, honey, nutmeg, coffee, clove and peppermint oils, rum and pineapple essences, color, sugar, cognac, apple juice, ethyl alcohol, water.
Useful properties of Ishim balm
Alcohol tinctures are considered a storehouse of useful properties. They contain vitamins, organic acids, minerals, carbohydrates, fats, proteins, tannins from medicinal plants. Balm can be called a natural energetic. It helps to normalize the body during mental and physical exertion, to relieve overwork. In some cases, Ishim balm is taken as an aperitif to increase appetite and salivation before eating.
To prevent infectious and viral diseases, tincture is used with tea or honey. A couple of spoons is enough to enhance the secretion of sweat, strengthen immunity and increase expectoration of sputum from the bronchi. In folk medicine, this drink is used to strengthen the heart and blood vessels, treat cholelithiasis, normalize the central nervous system, improve the functioning of the digestive tract, increase metabolism.
As a prophylaxis, Ishimsky balm is prescribed for:

- sore throat;
- lowering the defenses of the immune system.

The use of "Ishim" balm in cooking
The infusion is used in all recipes in which alcohol is present. Most often, balm is added to sauces, marinades, gravy, pastries and liquids for roasting, baking, grilling and stewing. The drink goes well with fish and meat dishes. From it you can make an excellent marinade or sauce. In this case, the main thing is to monitor the dosage of alcohol. After all, not everyone will have a medicinal-plant flavor, especially if you overdo it with balm.
Also "Ishimsky" can be added to pastries: both salty and sweet. Balm is suitable for pies, muffins and desserts. If you add it to the classic tiramisu, then the sabayon cream will sparkle with new faces.
How to drink as alcohol
Before use, the balm is cooled. The best temperature is the one at which the structure of the drink becomes saturated and viscous, and the glass bottle is covered with hoarfrost. Alcohol is poured into small glasses and drunk in small sips. Vegetable tinctures are not accepted for a snack. Food products interrupt the taste and aroma.
Another well-known way of using "Ishim" balm is considered a combination with coffee or tea. A few tablespoons of vegetable alcohol will give these drinks a new flavor.
Contraindications and harm balm
A drink causes harm to the body in case of abuse, as well as with individual intolerance to the ingredients that make up the composition. Since “Ishimsky” balm is considered strong alcohol, it is not recommended to drink it for lactating and pregnant women, as well as for people under 18 years of age. A contraindication to use is the presence of diseases such as biliary dyskinesia, gastritis, gastric ulcer, liver and kidney pathology.
