Hydrochlorothiazide - this is the international name of the drug, manufactured under the name "Hypothiazide". Similarly, the name of the active substance of the drug sounds, which is available in tablets weighing 25 mg. The composition of the medicine includes auxiliary components: talc, magnesium stearate, lactose monohydrate, gelatin and corn starch.

Tablets belong to the group of diuretics. The medicine, which is an active diuretic , effectively removes excess fluid from the body, as well as potassium, chlorine and sodium ions. After a maximum of 2 hours after taking the drug, its active effect begins, which lasts for 12 hours on condition of a single dose. A decrease in the level of fluid in the body entails a decrease in high blood pressure, which is observed after taking the drug "Hypothiazide", instructions for use also indicate a decrease in intraocular pressure during treatment with the drug.

It is not recommended to combine the use of this drug with treatment with acetylsalicylic acid, because the medication increases the side effects of the latter.
