The drug Augmentin is available in tablets, sterile powders for injection, and also in the form of a powder for suspension. Suspension "Augmentin" is most often used to treat young children. - hematopoietic system: leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, bleeding disorders, hemolytic anemia ;

- allergic reactions: anaphylactic shock, skin rash, erythema multiforme, urticaria, allergic vasculitis, angioedema, epidermal necrolysis and so on. Please note that if any sign of allergy appears, stop using the drug!

- CNS: headache, dizziness, cramps and reversible hyperactivity are possible;

- digestive system: frequent manifestations - nausea, diarrhea, dyspepsia. Rarely, in children who take the suspension, the color of the tooth enamel changes. From the liver, cholestatic jaundice or hepatitis are possible, but these effects are extremely rare in patients who have received hepatotoxic drugs earlier, as well as with the presence of serious diseases of this organ;

- urinary system: crystalluria is possible, as well as interstitial nephritis;

- imbalance of normal microflora, as a result, the development of candidiasis of the mucous membranes, extremely rarely - pseudomembranous and hemorrhagic colitis.

Contraindications to the use of the drug "Augmentin" is increased individual sensitivity. In addition, in case of impaired liver and kidney function, its use as a medicine is contraindicated or an appropriate dose adjustment has been made. Therefore, use this antibiotic in the treatment of diseases only as directed by a doctor!
