Required Products:
- large lemon - 1 fruit;
- dried basil, allspice black pepper and sea salt - add to the fish at your own discretion;
- large onions - 3 pcs.;
- fresh or frozen trout - 1 pc. (2-3 kg);
- large carrots - 3 pcs.;
- fresh dill and parsley - in a small bunch;
- bay leaves - 6-8 pcs.
Red fish processing process
Before making a trout steak baked in the oven in foil, you should purchase fresh or frozen red fish and carefully process it. For this, the product must be washed well, gutted, and then cut off all the fins, head and tail. Throwing them away is not recommended, as in the future you can cook the most delicious fatty ear from these elements.
After the fish is fully processed, it must be cut into large steaks. It should be noted that their thickness should not exceed 3 cm.

The process of forming a dish
Before sending red fish to the oven, it is advisable to wrap it in cooking foil. Since we decided to make portioned dishes for the festive table, it is recommended to cut it into separate squares with sides of 20 centimeters. Thus, it is required to place a previously soaked steak in the center of the foil, and lay on top circles of carrots, half onion rings and chopped greens. Sprinkle them a little with salt and wrap tightly. It is undesirable to use oil, mayonnaise, sour cream and other ingredients for such a dish, since trout will turn out to be oily and very tasty.
Heat treatment
Trout steaks placed in foil should be baked in a preheated oven for about 45 minutes. However, before you finally get the packages with the fish, it is advisable to open them a bit and try for softness and taste.
