Viral infections are one of the many groups of diseases. They are diverse in morphology and clinical course and, having a high contagiousness, are capable of provoking pandemics and epidemics.
Viral infections, invading or activating in the body, can cause various disorders. The main functional and morphological disorders include:
- integration with the genome of the cell without its pronounced destruction (with hepatitis B);
- cytolytic effect (noted with flu, hepatitis A);
- the formation of Taurus inclusions (with rabies);
- proliferation of target cells (smallpox);
- giant cell transformation (measles).
Certain viral infections can trigger neoplastic changes. However, most often in cells dystrophic transformations, necrosis develop, and in some cases, peculiar cellular changes with the formation of inclusions inside them. These formations, in turn, are important in the morphological diagnosis of individual diseases that cause viral infections.
It should be noted that pathologies can occur in several forms: acute, latent and chronic. In the second case, the symptoms of the disease are either absent or are observed periodically.
The most common of all infectious diseases now around the world are genital infections, including those caused by viruses. Moreover, as observations show, an increase in the incidence rate in the population is annually observed. Sexually transmitted infections affect people, regardless of age, social and racial origin, gender. As a rule, most often pathologies occur in young people who lead an active sex life.
Signs of genital infections are usually manifold and invisible. It is believed that immediately after their penetration, only 60-70% of infected people have symptoms. Traditionally, itching and redness in the genital area, often with an unpleasant color and smell of discharge, the occurrence of ulcers and rashes.
It should be noted that infection does not always occur through sexual contact. So, some vaginal infections can occur as a result of uncontrolled use of antibiotics, a decrease in the protective functions of the body against the backdrop of an unsatisfactory state of the environment, the use of poor-quality foods rich in chemical additives, stress, illness, and more. First of all, all of the above causes a serious blow to immunity. At the same time, women become more vulnerable to the development of various diseases of the genital organs.
Depending on age, susceptibility to a particular infection is manifested. For example, people between the ages of seventeen and twenty-five are susceptible to chlamydosis. Infection can happen in youth. The carrier of the disease can be throughout life. So, even a regular partner, who has never been examined and treated for the presence of urogenital infections, can be a source of infection. That is why they can become infected as those who prefer sex with different people, and who have contact with one person constantly.
As a rule, genital infections in a classic form have a characteristic clinical picture and immediately draw the patient's attention to themselves. It should be noted that the development of a large number of "new" pathologies often proceed secretly (in particular, in women). As a result, almost all of them acquire an acute or chronic form in a minimum period of time.
In this regard, on a simple examination to visually determine whether a person is sick or not, is quite problematic. It is not always possible to identify these infections when using tests.
