The film "Cold Summer 53", whose actors have long won the love of the audience, is a screen drama dedicated to the difficult times of Stalin's repressions and the events that took place with prisoners after the amnesty. What difficulties did the main characters of the tape encounter? And what is the tragedy of their fate?
The creators of the picture and a short plot
The film “Cold Summer 53” is a dramatic film by Alexander Proshkin, shot according to the script by Edgar Dubrovsky. Alexander Proshkin previously made the films such as “Dangerous Age” and “Mikhailo Lomonosov”. After the film “Cold Summer of the 53rd”, filmed in 1987, Proshkin released quite famous films “See Paris and Die”, as well as “Doctor Zhivago”.
In the film “Cold Summer 53”, the actors take the viewer to the time when Stalin had just died and granted amnesty to many prisoners. Freed from the colonies, they flooded the cities of the Soviet Union, but continued to lead by no means a righteous way of life.
Against the background of these events, a real drama is being played out in a small village in the north of the country: criminals returning from prison organize a gang, kill the only local policeman and keep the whole village in fear. However, among them there are political prisoners Luzga and Kopalych who are not going to live according to such atrocious laws.
Cold Summer 53: actors and roles. Valery Priyykhov as Luzgi
Valery Priyykhov is a professional actor and screenwriter. Due to his role in the film Proshkin, Priemykhov was recognized as the best artist in the USSR (according to the version of the magazine "Soviet Screen"). In the entire filmography of the artist , several key works can be distinguished: “Boys”, “Our Armored Train”, “Crusader”, “Mother, Do not Cry” and “Kamenskaya”.
In the film “Cold Summer of the 53rd”, actors Priyykhov and Papanov played unfortunate comrades: both of them were exiled to the northern camps for political reasons. Hero of Priemykhov - Sergey Basargin, received the nickname Luzga. He had to forget about military service in regimental intelligence and learn to speak in a hair dryer.
When Basargin is granted amnesty, nothing really changes in his life, because the most efficient years and his good name are ruined. However, Luzga still had particles of officer dignity, and he was not going to put up with the lawlessness of the bandits. With the support of Kopalych, Basargin, one after another, neutralizes the members of the gang that captured the village.
The film "Cold Summer 53": actors and roles. Anatoly Papanov as Kopalych
Proshkin's film for the famous Soviet actor Papanov was the last. After filming the film “Cold Summer 53”, the actors went home - Anatoly Papanov rushed to Moscow, because he had a rehearsal in the theater on the same day. To freshen up, the actor decided to take a contrast shower, and at that moment a heart beat hit him.
In the filmography of Papanov, there are such significant pictures for Soviet cinema as “The Diamond Arm”, “Gentlemen of Fortune”, “Give a Mournful Book”. The wolf from the beloved animated film “Well, wait a minute” also speaks with the voice of the artist.
In the film "Cold Summer 53" the actors Papanov and Priyemykh played criminals. But they differed from other prisoners in their internal content, for in the past both Luzga and Kopalych belonged to the Soviet elite. In the final, the hero of Anatoly Papanov dies, trying to save his comrades.
