Hurts Band - British Duo

The British group Hurts (originally from Manchester) is a duet that includes vocalist Hutchcraft and keyboard player, and part-time also guitarist Adam Anderson. Their artistic startling videos of their own production are well known. And some songs of these musicians are familiar to literally everyone.

First group

Hurts epics, dramatic pop music, take their inspiration from a mixture of influences and currents of modern music and music of past years, including Kraut rock of the 70s, the new wave of the 80s and R & B of the 90s. After meeting in 2005, Hutchcraft and Anderson formed several bands, including Bureau and Daggers, which later began performing under the label Fandango. In 2007, with their inherent high-energy electro-pop sound, Daggers released the single Money / Magazine. However, Hutchcraft and Anderson were not happy, they did not like the direction chosen by the group. A little later, they decided to close this project.

Later, in the basement studio, the duo continued their musical activity, already calling themselves the name Hurts. The guys began to focus on a more streamlined, capricious and emotional sound, unlike "Daggers", this project was a confrontation with pop music. The musicians initially worked over the Internet with Swedish producer Jonas Quant. Hurts recorded three opening songs: Wonderful Life, Evelyn, and Unspoken. In June 2009, Hurts created a striking black and white video of their own production for the song Wonderful Life. In July, they signed an agreement with RCA.

Musical activity of the group

In 2009 and 2010, there were even more fans of the group. This was facilitated by the release of several songs posted by the group on their MySpace page, as well as videos on the compositions Blood, Tears & Gold and Better Than Love. The song Wonderful Life, which was performed by the lead singer of the group Hurts, began to constantly spin on radio channels.

Without engaging in live performances, the musicians created their own collection of songs. And in 2010, the group Hurts gave their debut concert in Berlin. In the same year, the guys toured all over Europe and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. In March 2010, the single Better Than Love debuted at number 50 on the Kingdom's singles chart. Also at this time, as if to celebrate how popular the band became, the Hurts recorded a Devotion song with backing vocals from pop superstar Kylie Minogue. Hurts then released in Minogue Studios the hit single Confide in Me for The Sun's website.

Achievements, Rewards, and Collaborations

In August 2010, the Hurts team created the debut full-length compilation Happiness, which was first released at number four on the UK album chart. More than 25,000 albums were sold in the first seven days, making him the best-selling band in the United Kingdom in 2010. Thanks to the singles Better Than Love, Wonderful Life and Stay, the album enjoyed tremendous success throughout Europe, and the popularity of Hurts grew exponentially. Several awards followed in 2010, including from BBC's Sound, the musicians won the German Bambi award and received a nomination for the MTV Europe Music Award. In 2013, Hurts released their second album, Exile. Thanks to the work of Hutchcraft and Anderson in collaboration with Quant and Dan Grech Marguerat, Exile showed a subtle, somewhat more modern sound that included more orchestral and rock music, but retained all the basic sounds of Hurts. In 2015, Hurts introduced Surrender's personal third studio songbook.
