If a gynecologist diagnoses cervical erosion, this means that the inner part of the epithelium, which goes deep into the cervix, is shifted outward, exposed and is a transformed, pathologically altered epithelium. This is a false erosion, which is most often found in women, and occurs almost immediately after the first hollow contact. Unfortunately, most women know what erosion is, the symptoms of which are not always manifested, but are detected when visiting a doctor for a completely different reason.
Symptoms of cervical erosion are not visible to the naked eye - the doctor makes a diagnosis using a speculum extender inserted into the vagina. In most cases, in addition to erosion, a whole bunch of concomitant diseases is found - genital infections, papilloma viruses. However, the main cause of erosion is a hormonal imbalance, which is especially common in young girls who have sex for the first time. Therefore, up to twenty-three years, uterine erosion, the symptoms of which are mild, is not recommended for treatment. You can only watch it and put preventive candles, sea buckthorn lotions, and use a condom for sexual contact. In this case, erosion can proceed sluggishly, and sometimes heals altogether.
Symptoms of cervical erosion, which is called true, occur most often after the intervention of doctors during abortion, with unsuccessful childbirth (tears, episiotomy), rude actions during a vaginal examination. An additional cause may be diseases in the cervical region - colpitis, cervicitis, papilloma virus. In cases of degeneration of erosion into cancer, all women had this virus, therefore it is considered to be the most risky factor in the presence of erosion.
Irritations in the acidic environment can also cause symptoms of cervical erosion, which inherently are not a direct cause of erosion, but, nevertheless, lead to a displacement of the epithelium.
The disease is dangerous in that in the same cases, symptoms of cervical erosion appear both openly and latently. In women who have visible symptoms, vaginal discharge, burning and itching, and rare tingling in the cervix are observed. These symptoms appear due to the presence of pathological microflora, which causes these sensations. In rare cases, spotting may appear after sexual contact.
Since erosion is most often asymptomatic, for its detection, women should regularly visit a gynecologist at least twice a year in order to identify and cure the disease in time.
Usually, gynecologists see the symptoms of cervical erosion without errors. These, first of all, include a color change in the cervical region. On a seemingly healthy pale pink background, a bright red fringe of up to a large coin appears. If there is a need for additional research, then cervical erosion is looked at using a colposcope. This is a special apparatus, which at the microscopic level shows the pathology of the epithelial layer. Usually, during colposcopy, the scale of erosion is clarified - this place is stained with a solution of acetic acid, which helps to narrow the vessels. Those places in which the vessels have not narrowed are affected. In order to exclude oncology, a biopsy is taken from the site of erosion and the presence of cancer cells is established based on the analysis.
Today, more advanced methods than before are used to treat cervical erosion . Erosion can be treated with a laser, radio waves, or cryodestruction — using these methods, the tissue in the affected area is updated and the erosion disappears. Of course, you can treat it in the old fashion - cauterization, but this method is more traumatic, painful and not recommended for those women who still plan to have children.
