Bacterial vaginosis: treatment, clinical symptoms and causes of this disease

Bacterial vaginosis is actually a fairly common disease. It occurs at least once in a lifetime in about half of beautiful ladies. Most often, it does not lead to the development of any complications, however, vaginosis of the vagina is still capable of complicating the life and ruining the mood of a woman. The thing is that this ailment has very unpleasant symptoms. It is because of them that treatment should begin as early as possible.

Vaginosis treatment
Bacterial vaginosis develops when a woman changes the qualitative, as well as the quantitative composition of the usual vaginal microflora. Most often this is observed when she has any hormonal changes, stresses, her sexual partner has changed, or her local and / or humoral immunity has decreased . The most favorable for the vagina are lactobacilli. If bacteroids, gardnerella, mycoplasma hominis or enterococci begin to prevail, then bacterial vaginosis develops . Treatment of it will involve the restoration of the usual composition of the vaginal microflora.

In many cases, this disease can even occur without any symptoms. In other situations, bacterial vaginosis manifests itself as the main triad of symptoms: characteristic discharge, burning, and itching. Discharge in this case is the main and most unpleasant symptom. Particularly unpleasant is the smell, strongly reminiscent of spoiled fish and making it clear that the woman has developed bacterial vaginosis. Treatment is best started with the first symptoms. As for the other two characteristic signs of bacterial vaginosis - itching and burning, they are usually not very pronounced. However, their intensity can increase during intercourse, menstruation, or regular urination.

Vaginosis of the vagina
If vaginosis is suspected, treatment and diagnosis begin with a swab from the vagina (with its mucous membrane). Conduct research by seeding. This allows you to determine which bacteria predominated in the smear, and therefore in the vagina. In addition, the so-called amide test seems to be a very common way to diagnose bacterial vaginosis. It consists in determining the presence of isonitrile in the vagina. It is worth noting that it is this substance that is responsible for the unpleasant smell of secretions. Another diagnostic method used to detect this pathology is pH meter. The thing is that normally in the vagina there is an acidic environment, and with bacterial vaginosis - alkaline.

For this disease, treatment does not involve any emergency or overly complex measures. Despite this, the majority of women with vaginosis are treated as early as possible. This is due to the previously mentioned unpleasant symptoms, to be more precise - the indestructible smell of secretions. The basis of the drug effect on this pathology is the use of antibacterial agents (selected depending on the results of the smear culture), as well as eubiotics (lactobacterin and others).
