Many of us like to pass an hour or two in front of the screen during the evening rest, watching television series. Unfortunately, most of the multi-series projects are a product that is suitable exclusively for those who are not sorry to waste time. So that you do not have to be upset once again, we have prepared a list of the worst TV shows that have received low ratings from critics and the audience.
"American Housewife"
It is difficult to imagine that in the era of the rapid development of television, a series may appear on the screens, the authors of which are so frivolous about their own creation. The screenplay of one of the worst TV shows of recent years - “American Housewife” - is inherently pretty good. However, its implementation by the directors is poor.
Be that as it may, it’s worth saying thanks to the popular ABC channel for trying to release a noteworthy comedy film about an overweight girl who is absolutely not ashamed of her own flaw. If we talk about what happened as a result, according to many viewers, something terrible came out. Not the best reviews can also be heard from critics.
"On the verge"
Pretty fresh comedy series from the HBO channel turned out to be a real failure. This primitive humorous film with a political context seems to be deliberately trying to return to the last century, when television was replete with a host of low-grade projects. The only thing that can attract the attention of the viewer to this product is the desire to see how the actors are replaying on the screen. It is not at all surprising why the film “On the Edge” ranks in the ranking of the worst TV shows.
"Carmelita"
The series “Carmelita” is an openly failed attempt by domestic filmmakers to revive the viewer's interest in gypsy stories that were popular in Soviet times. Unfortunately, the authors of the multi-series project did not even succeed in approaching the success of the magnificent painting “Gypsies”, which had the status of a real hit in the USSR. Obviously, the producers of the TV series “Carmelita” were not motivated by anything but the desire to make money on the nostalgia of the domestic audience in the old days. However, the result was simply a failure.
"Theorists"
The series "Theorists" is another unsuccessful attempt to adapt the Western project to the reality surrounding the inhabitants of domestic latitudes. But this time it was not Russian filmmakers who got into trouble. In this case, the Belarusian TV men gave in. Unlike prototypes, the heroes of the original series The Big Bang Theory, the characters in the Theorists project are not employees of a university laboratory, but live in a dormitory for nuclear scientists. It is here, according to the idea of the directors, that young and inexperienced scientists are resettled, who are entrusted with the responsible task of launching a nuclear power unit.
Given the somewhat absurdity of the above idea, it is easy to guess why the first season of the project did not receive a continuation. The failed adaptation of the original allowed Theorists to stay on the list of worst TV shows for a long time.
Legends of Tomorrow
When reviewing the worst TV shows, one cannot ignore DC’s rather recent creation, Tomorrow’s Legends. In fact, the project was initially doomed to failure. Indeed, on the screen in front of the audience appeared superheroes completely unknown to a wide audience. Incomprehensible stories, the absurdity of the narrative, the lack of the so-called chemistry between the characters - all this played a cruel joke with the authors of the series.
"Doctor Tyrsa"
Surprisingly, with the adaptation of scenarios of successful Western projects to our realities, there is a complete disaster among Russian filmmakers. Each such attempt is simply buried in the negative assessments of critics. One of the worst series on domestic television is not an exception - “Doctor Tyrsa”. It is easy to guess that the plot of the multi-part tape is borrowed from the western hit, which tells about an eccentric, sometimes crazy, but brilliant doctor named House.
The game of Mikhail Porechenkov, who was chosen for the role of Tyrsa, to put it mildly, does not reach the level demonstrated by the famous British comedian Hugh Laurie in the original series. As the reviews of the viewers show, some of them could not watch the first episode until the end of their acquaintance with the Doctor Tyrsa project.
"Secret materials"
Reviving the television series The X-Files, the producers of the popular FOX channel probably dreamed of returning real excitement from the audience. Unfortunately, the main characters of the once successful franchise, the famous agents of Mulder and Scully, are far from being the same. In addition, the plot of many episodes in restarting the project looks frankly delusional, and at some points it reminds of a bad comedy and even a farce.
