One of the brightest stars of Soviet cinema is Inna Churikova. The filmography of the actress has more than forty films, among which there are many paintings that have become classics of Russian cinema. How did this charismatic actress begin her career and what happens in her life today?
early years
Inna Churikova, whose filmography is rich in cooperation with the most famous directors, had practically no chance to become a famous actress - everything in her life happened contrary to circumstances.
Churikova was born in such a wilderness where there was not even a theater. Father and mother were simple workers. After the parents of the future actress broke up, the mother took her daughter and went to live in Moscow. Inna studied well at school, while she was a big dreamer.
In the ninth grade, she became attracted to acting, and she enrolled in a drama circle at the theater. Stanislavsky. From the first lessons, Inna realized that the theater was what she needed.
Despite serious preparation, Inna Churikova never passed the creative competition at the Moscow Art Theater School. She was not accepted to the Pike either, but the young lady liked the commission of the Shchepkinsky school. So Churikova became a theatrical student.
Career start and first films
Inna Churikova, whose filmography began to replenish with good films during her studies, was more attracted to theatrical stage than to cinema. Immediately after graduation, Inna was sent to serve in the theater in Kamchatka. After a couple of years, the girl returned to Moscow and became an actress of the Youth Theater. In 1973, the actress was invited to the troupe of Lenkom by Mark Zakharov himself. Inna Churikova, of course, agreed.
As mentioned above, Churikova began acting in films, while still a student. Her first role is the episodic role of Raiki in the drama "Clouds over Borsky." In 63rd, Inna Mikhailovna reappears in a cameo role, but this time in the film âI Walk in Moscowâ by George Danelia.
It was difficult for Churikova to make her way to the cinema, because her appearance was quite specific. Despite the fact that Inna was not beautiful, she radiated incredible charm. Therefore, very soon the girl was expected by her first "star role".
Inna Churikova: filmography. "Frost"
Who doesnât know the good old tale of Alexander Rowe âMorozkoâ? This beautiful story about the good girl Nastya was watched by the entire Soviet Union every New Year's holidays. And Inna Churikova played one of the main and colorful roles in the film - the role of Marfushechka.
What is the first episode of the film, in which Churikova lies in a bed with puffed cheeks and sucks a huge lollipop. The viewer at first glance at the actress's face begins to choke on laughter. Also, many phrases and sayings of the heroine Churikova went âto the peopleâ: âI want a groom! I want wealth! Want! Want! I want! â,â Serve as soon as possible to the groom! â Yes dowry! Yes, more! "," What are you, old? Is he crazy? â
For the sake of this role, Churikova had to eat real onion heads for an hour until the episode of the meeting between Marfushechka and Morozko in the forest was filmed. You can only imagine what it cost the actress not to wrinkle in the frame from disgust. But she coped remarkably with her task: looking at how Churikova appetizingly chews onions, the audience also involuntarily began to salivate.
"The Beginning" - a film that made Churikov a world celebrity
After Marfushechka actually became the âdecorationâ of the film âMorozko,â the directors had no doubt that Churikova was born for the main roles and knows how to keep the viewer's attention. The actress was strewn with offers from directors. And after a series of successful films, Churikova again appears in the lead role in the tragicomic film âThe Beginningâ by Gleb Panfilov, who turned her not only into a star of the Soviet screen, but also into world celebrity.
âBeginningâ is a film that was presented at the 32nd Venice Film Festival. For the role of Praskovya Stroganova, Inna Mikhailovna in Venice received the Golden Lion of St. Mark". But the list of awards for excellent work does not end there: Churikova also became the owner of the Southern Cross at the XIV Australian IFF, she was also recognized as the "best foreign actress" in Bulgaria in 1971 and the best actress of 1970 according to the magazine Soviet screen".
What is the secret to such success? Perhaps in the rare charm of the actress. Or, perhaps, the fact is that Churikova partly played herself: a provincial woman who suddenly showed a rare artistic gift.
âI beg the wordsâ
Inna Mikhailovna became the favorite actress of the director Gleb Panfilov, so in 1975 he appeared again in the title role in his film âI ask for wordsâ. And it's not even that the actress was the directorâs wife. It's just that films with Inna Churikova in the title role resonated with the hearts of the viewer.
The plot of the picture revolves around the personality of the mayor of a provincial city - a certain Elizabeth Uvarova. An idealist, rooting for a bright future for her homeland, Uvarova is a vivid example of a feminist, as they would say about her now. The mayor of the city puts his work above personal needs and family. Therefore, the womanâs personal life soon collapses: her son dies, a serious discord begins at home.
Thus, already in the 70s, the question began to arise in society about whether women should occupy high posts or is their inheritance still a house and a family? The film won a prize at the Czech Karlovy Vary Film Festival, as well as an honorary diploma at the Barcelona Film Festival.
A film about Baron Munchausen
"The same Munchausen" was filmed in 1979 and is one of the immortal creations of Mark Zakharov. The success of Zakharovâs paintings cannot be explained as the success of Inna Churikova herself. The director never shot a movie that is simple and understandable to every layman - in his paintings there is always a lot of allegory, hidden meanings and phantasmagoria. Sometimes Zakharovâs films turn into comedies of the absurd, in which the action develops controversially and is somehow too fantastic. Nevertheless, the directorâs creations are loved and watched to this day: this is the âFormula of Loveâ, and âThe Ordinary Miracleâ, and, of course, âThe Same Munchausenâ.

Inna Churikova in the picture of the famous director got the role of the imperious baroness Jacobina von Munchausen. The role of the actress is simply replete with aphorisms and philosophical sayings, such as âTruth, little girl, does not happen at all. Truth is what is currently considered to be true â, etc.
Together with Inna Churikova, such famous actors as Oleg Yankovsky, Elena Koreneva, Alexander Abdulov, Igor Kvasha and many others were involved in the film.
"Field novel"
Another well-known work of the actress is one of the main roles in the melodrama "Field-Military Romance". The director of the picture was Peter Todorovsky - the creator of such films as "Intergirl", "Anchor, another anchor!" and many others. The picture was well received by both critics and spectators. And even nominated for an Oscar.
In the picture, Churikova got the role of the wife of the protagonist - Alexander Netuzhilin. By the will of fate, Vera performed by Inna Mikhailovna finds herself embroiled in a classic love triangle between her husband and the heroine Natalya Andreichenko. As often happens in the war years, Netuzhilin at the front was carried away by one attractive person, and after many years he met her in Moscow and his old feelings returned.
Together with Churikova, such artists as Nikolai Burlyaev (âVacation in Septemberâ), Natalya Andreichenko (âMary Poppins, goodbye!â) And Victor Proskurin (âQueen of Spadesâ) were involved in the film.
Personal life
Inna Churikova, whose personal life was also very successful, has been married to director Gleb Panfilov for many years. He repeatedly shot his wife in his films.
In 1978, she gave birth to a son, Inna Churikova. The coupleâs children did not appear anymore, so they raised only their son - Ivan Panfilov.
