Anna Dymna was born in 1951, in the ancient Polish city of Legnica. Little is known about the childhood, youth of the actress. Anna Dymna graduated from a theater school in the early seventies. She began acting in films immediately after receiving an acting profession. She did not suffer, like most of her colleagues, from unemployment, did not appear in extras, did not dream of at least some, even episodic role. Everything turned out much more successfully.
In 1971, the young actress was invited to the main role of Katarzyna in the film Piec i pól bladego Józka . Then there were shootings in other films and series. Anna Dymnu (who, however, then still had a different surname, namely Dzyadyk) began to be recognized on the street. For eight years, she has played in more than twenty films, which is not bad, given the instability of the acting profession. In addition, the girl was in demand in the theater. But Anna's finest hour was yet to come.
“To the last drop of blood”
The premiere of this film took place in 1978. The picture tells about the events of the early forties. Anna Dymna played the main role in this historical film. The director of the picture is the famous Jerzy Hoffman, on whose account such masterpieces of cinema as "Fire and Sword", "Flood". The film "Until the last drop of blood" was duplicated by Soviet actors, was a success in the USSR. But the next film of the scriptwriter and director Jerzy Hoffman, created based on the novel by Dolby Mostovich, in which the actress Anna Dymna also played the main female role, caused a real sensation.
A tragic story with a happy ending
So you can briefly characterize the plot of the film, which brought Anna Dymne fame not only in the homeland, but also abroad. What is this picture about? A world-famous surgeon once returns home and finds out that his wife fell in love with another. He learns this from a letter that a woman leaves before leaving, taking her young daughter with her. The hero of the story is nothing but to go to a drinking establishment and try to drown the pain in wine. Which he does.
But a visit to the tavern ends sadly for him. The doctor becomes a victim of robbery, loses memory. Then she wanders for several years. And only after a considerable time, becoming a famous healer, he remembers his name. And this happens thanks to the newfound daughter - Maryse, played by Anna Dymna (photo of the heroine below).
The film is called "Healer". This is one of the most famous Polish films of the 80s. After his show, the name of the performer of the role of Marysi became known in the Soviet Union. And seven years later, Maciej Wojtyško invited the actress to the main role in the film based on the book of a Russian writer.
"The Master and Margarita"
The director reacted extremely carefully to Bulgakov’s text. Almost all the dialogues in the film adaptation of the cult novel in the film Wojtyško saved. The picture received many positive reviews; it was shown in Russia in 1993. It is difficult to judge how Dymna coped with the role of Margarita. The screen versions of Bulgakov's most famous novel are always controversial. Nevertheless, the Polish film is still considered one of the most successful attempts to transfer the plot of a book by a Russian writer to the screen.
Other films
Anna Dymna played in the films Yanoshik, The Lady with the Camellias, The Witcher, Ancient Tradition and many others. In 2002, Vishnevsky’s sensational novel “Loneliness on the Web” was filmed. Dymna, of course, could not claim the main role. The actress was over fifty at that time. She got the role of the mother of the heroine.
Personal life
The actress is married to director Krzysztof Ozhekhovsky. This is the third marriage. The first husband of Anna Dymna was Weslav Dymna, the second - Zbigniew Shota. For many years, the actress has been involved in charity work, for which she has been awarded honorary awards more than once.
