The consumption of sandwiches is especially common in large English cities, but the world's largest manufacturers of these sandwiches are such restaurant chains as McDonald's, Burger King, Subway. There are many options for preparing this dish, however, one of the most common are tuna sandwiches, which we will talk about in this article.

During the First World War, tuna gained great popularity among soldiers, as it was considered an important source of protein. Since then, the demand for this fish has not decreased, and it is one of the most consumed on the planet.

Tuna has excellent gastronomic qualities, is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. At the same time, he does not lose his useful qualities with any type of processing, including canning, which distinguishes it from other types of fish.

Tuna sandwiches have a delicate taste and are therefore loved by many. However, there are many options for making this sandwich, including various additional ingredients.

The nutritional value of the named sandwich varies depending on which ingredients and in what quantity will be used in its manufacture. You can say that on average, tuna sandwiches have a calorie value of 300-600 calories, but itโ€™s difficult to talk about any exact number. After all, even if you add a little more mayonnaise or oil to the sandwich, then the number of calories is already increasing by 50 calories.

Classic Tuna Sandwich

The recipe for a classic sandwich is not particularly difficult and is a traditional performance of this dish. For him we need to take:

  • canned albacore tuna in a jar - 150 g;
  • boiled egg;
  • 2-4 Art. l mayonnaise;
  • lemon juice (2 tsp);
  • 2 tbsp sweet religion (vegetable sauce);
  • finely chopped celery - 1 arrow;
  • lettuce;
  • lemon black pepper - 2 tsp;
  • bread - 4 slices.

We start to cook. Finely chop the bread and fry it on the toaster. Boil the egg, cool and peel. Mix all ingredients except bread and salad. Cool the resulting mass. Put lettuce leaves on the base, and already have the filling on them, which should be covered with another piece of bread. Option with Tuna and Tomatoes

Very tasty is the option with tomatoes. Such a sandwich with tuna (the photo in the article confirms this) also looks appetizing. The following products act as ingredients here:

  • tuna - 350 g;
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery;
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise;
  • finely chopped onions - 1.5 tbsp. l .;
  • red wine vinegar - 3/4 tsp;
  • a pinch of salt;
  • Swiss cheese - 8 slices;
  • as many slices of tomato;
  • rye bread - 4 slices;
  • a pinch of freshly ground black pepper;
  • Art. l chopped parsley;
  • for garnish - pepper.

So, we begin to prepare:

  1. First of all, preheat the oven.
  2. Mix in a bowl: tuna, celery, mayonnaise, onions, parsley, vinegar, pepper and salt.
  3. Place slices of bread on a baking sheet and bake for 1 minute in a preheated oven.
  4. Put the prepared salad mixture on slices, and on it one piece of cheese, a layer of tomatoes, and the remaining cheese on top.
  5. Put the sandwiches in the oven again and bake for 3-5 minutes until the pieces of cheese are melted.

As we noticed, here the sandwich is presented in an open form, which is not typical for this type of sandwiches, however, it also has a right to exist. The calorific value of such a product is 519 kcal. The content of the substances will be as follows: carbohydrates - 22.1 g, fats - 30.4 g, proteins - 38.6 g, fiber - 2.9 g, cholesterol - 93 mg, sodium - 822 g.

This type of sandwich is a fried slices of bread, between which there is a filling, but at the same time they are still cut in half into triangular parts. As a rule, restaurants with such a dish also serve a side dish. Letโ€™s take a closer look at the recipe for this sandwich, where tuna and egg will be the filling. For him we need:

  • canned tuna in its own juice (2 jars);
  • 6 feathers of green onions;
  • parsley and dill;
  • 2 eggs;
  • 2 slices of bread;
  • black pepper;
  • homemade mayonnaise;
  • sea โ€‹โ€‹salt.

First you need to boil hard-boiled eggs. Fry bread in a dry skillet or in a toaster. Now mix the canned food with herbs, which are finely chopped beforehand. Carefully crumble the cooked eggs, add them to the rest of the ingredients. We season everything with mayonnaise, salt and pepper. We thoroughly mix all the components: if the mixture turns out to be dry, then we add another mayonnaise. It's time to put the salad on the toast and cover it with the remaining slice of bread. You can heat the sandwich in a pan, and finally cut the resulting sandwich into two parts on the diagonal.

We will separately consider how to make mayonnaise at home, which will go as an ingredient to this simple, but at the same time tasty sandwich. For it you need: 2 eggs, 400 g of vegetable oil (a mixture of olive and sunflower), a pinch of sugar, 1 tsp. mustard, 2 pinches of sea salt, 1 tsp lemon juice (you can take white wine vinegar instead).

All components must be mixed in a blender or mixer, except for oil. Add sunflower oil in a thin stream to the whipped mass. We monitor the consistency and stop pouring oil when the mixture begins to resemble mayonnaise. Next, add olive oil so that our product is already brought to the final result. The mayonnaise is ready, but based on personal preferences, you can slightly correct what we got. For example, if the taste of oil is clearly felt, you need to add lemon juice and mustard.
