Biography (briefly)
Sanin Vladimir Markovich was born in 1928. The writer reflected his childhood in the novel “When I was a Boy”. In this work, the author described the lives of the children of the thirties of the last century. The writer never considered his childhood bright and cloudless. Nevertheless, he recalled this time with great tenderness.
Vladimir Sanin graduated from the Faculty of Economics, worked on radio and television. The theme of travel, which is invariably present in his books, appeared by chance. The writer has repeatedly participated in expeditions.
Sanin Vladimir Markovich passed away in 1989. Buried in Moscow.
Creation

In 1977, a fire occurred in the building of the hotel "Russia". The fire killed forty-two people. To write a book about this event, Sanin was proposed by the fire department. The creation of the novel was preceded by a deep study of the characteristics of the working days of representatives of this difficult profession. The Big Fire is the only Russian artwork entirely devoted to the topic of fire protection.
Call of the Polar Latitudes
This name has a cycle of stories and stories about polar explorers. The author tells about their relationship, about support, help, disappointments, losses and, finally, about the struggle for life. The hero of the work is the editor of a newspaper. He dreams of going to the International Journalists Camp, but, contrary to his wishes, he was sent by his boss on forced leave. The reason is insomnia, which creates a rumpled and tired look. The boss sends the editor to the sanatorium, where the subordinate will be able to normalize a healthy sleep. Here the hero is subjected to the method of the eccentric academician Borodin. Accompanied by an editor suffering from chronic insomnia, a young doctor - a girl with sky blue eyes.
The resort is located on an island in Valdai. The surprise of the protagonist and other patients who have impaired nervous activity (and most of them were people who hold very worthy positions) is unlimited when they find out that they are “victims” of a new therapeutic method. The so-called hospital lacks basic amenities. The method of getting rid of insomnia is based on unity with nature.
