About the theater
The Michurinsky Drama Theater, the photo of which is presented in this paragraph of the article, opened in 1897. The building of the former tobacco factory was allotted and rebuilt for him. The auditorium was designed for 600 seats.
The first performance of the theater - "We must get a divorce" based on a play by the French playwright V. Sardoux. The repertoire of that period included not only dramatic productions, but also operas and operettas.
In 1909, the building in which the performances took place burned down, and 4 years later a new one was built, in which the Michurinsky Drama Theater still lives.
At the beginning of the 20th century, many prominent figures came here from Moscow to work.
In 1918, the Michurin drama was called the Bolshoi Soviet Theater.
During the war years, the troupe traveled to the fronts and hospitals. Many actors left to defend their homeland from enemies, unfortunately, not all returned alive. The theater building was used as a hospital.
In the 50s, the troupe replenished with a large number of creative, talented youth.
In the 60s. Thanks to the artistic director G. Abdulov (the father of the famous actor Alexander Abdulov), the theater flourished. Gabriel Danilovich was both a director, and an actor, and a playwright.
In the 80s of the XX century, the theater received the State Prize of the RSFSR for its productions.
In the 90s. Michurinsky drama was in poor condition, the building needed a massive reconstruction. But there was no money for it.

Reviews
The Michurinsky Theater receives various reviews about its productions, mostly positive, although there are also negative ones among them.
Spectators praise the actors for their brilliant play, for the fact that they can convey a huge amount of feelings and their shades.
The theater's performances are mostly interesting, the repertoire is well-chosen, the directors find wonderful stage solutions.
Favorite performances by the public include Doomed to Love. Here the music is remarkably selected, a very interesting choreography. The scenery is very unusual. Actors playing the roles of the main characters are always convincing, sincerely live the lives of their heroes, play on the gap, expose the souls. This production amazes even those who are not theatergoers and do not often attend performances. The audience writes that the plot of this play cannot be called special, but the artists play in such a way that even those who have seen life, not very young and cynical men, make them cry and feel more than once, and also think about how disgusting sometimes the stronger sex behave with the weak and women who love them. The performance makes you think and the audience leaves it, becoming a little better than they were before they saw it.
Another favorite performance by the public is "The Perfect Kill." This is a funny comedy that allows you to laugh heartily and cheer up.
Among the productions created for young viewers, the tales "Moroz Ivanovich", "Forget-Me-Not", "Bremen Town Musicians" are especially noted. They, according to parents who bring their kids to the theater, are instructive, kind, moral.
Negative reviews can be found on the play for children - "Minions Attack." Viewers believe that it was staged exclusively for the pursuit of novelty. There is no morality and the plot is empty. For many children, this performance is simply incomprehensible. Yes, and I want to see good tales in the theater, naive and bright, that bring up.
A recent tour of the Michurinsky Drama Theater in Saransk. The troupe presented the following performances to the audience: “Crazy Day, or The Marriage of Figaro”, “Edith Piaf”, “Tales of Uncle Rimus”, “Clinical Case”, “Forget-Me-Not” and “Under the Roofs of Paris”. Residents of Saransk very warmly received the troupe and spoke enthusiastically about the performances of guests from Michurinsk. Spectators call the performance “Edith Piaf” especially touched. The actress, who played the main role, perfectly revealed the image of the great singer.
