"Tattooed leather" and other works of Danil Koretsky

A detective story is a literary genre whose plot is based on the investigation of a crime or other incident. The main feature of this genre is that the reader is hidden from the full picture of what is happening: along with the main character - the detective - in the course of the narrative, he gradually learns new and new facts of the crime.

If the work initially knows all the details of the incident, it refers to a police romance. Most Soviet detectives can be called precisely police novels. The heroes of these works are young investigators who, in the process of solving the crime, not only gain professional experience, but also change as individuals.
