Complications after the flu. Causes, symptoms and proper treatment

The concepts of "flu" and "SARS" have recently begun to combine a large number of diseases. The autumn-winter period is a traditional time when waves of epidemics β€œroll” across the country. You need to try to understand the nuances of how these viral diseases occur, and highlight the main symptoms, treatment strategy, as well as the prevailing complications after the flu.

Influenza refers to an acute and infectious disease that affects a number of body systems. Influenza is very contagious as it spreads through microorganisms that enter the respiratory tract and mucous membrane. Its incubation period is short, it starts from a few hours, and the virus enters the surrounding atmosphere with sneezing and coughing of an infected person. Therefore, the whole family is ill with the flu, regardless of the species, and it causes real epidemics.

The main symptoms of classic SARS: a rapid increase in temperature, pain and aches throughout the body, runny nose, redness of the throat and cough. In the normal course of the disease, these symptoms gradually disappear after five days. If they remain and the temperature is high, we can say that complications after the flu are not excluded, which we will discuss a little later. Let us first start on what to do if a person falls ill with SARS.

The classic treatment for influenza is as follows. The patient is prescribed antipyretic and immunostimulating drugs. It is important to drink plenty of fluids, but in small doses, as well as follow a certain diet and bed rest. In no case should you take antibiotics for ARVI, since the disease is caused by a virus, not bacteria.

A quick β€œcure” for the flu, which involves consuming a large amount of antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drugs, is unacceptable. This suppression of symptoms leads to deterioration of the human immune system and to the fact that complications appear after the flu. The body must "fight" the virus itself and defeat it with a little help from drugs prescribed by doctors ("Arbidol", "Influcid"). Breaking the traditional treatment regimen and trying to transfer the virus "on its feet", a person receives toxic effects and the following complications after the flu:

  • pulmonary diseases - for example, pneumonia, lung abscess;
  • cardiovascular complications - pericarditis, myocarditis;
  • diseases of the nervous system - neuralgia, neuritis, encephalitis, meningoencephalitis, polyradiculoneuritis, meningitis;
  • complications of ENT organs - tracheitis, rhinitis, sinusitis, otitis media;
  • muscle diseases - myositis and many others.

In addition, with improper treatment and with the highest pathogenicity of the virus, influenza can also be fatal.

Deadly pneumonia, which develops within three days, affects the walls of the lung and leads to internal bleeding.

The appearance of a fatal infectious toxic shock can result from an extreme degree of intoxication. At the same time, the number of heart contractions increases, but blood pressure drops to a critical point.

Incorrect treatment can provoke the appearance of those diseases that "slept". For example, against the background of the course of the flu, the first hypotonic or hypertensive crisis may appear, radiculitis, neuropsychiatric disorders, etc.

It is dangerous for your health not to pay attention to muscle aches, because during the disease myoglobin rises in the urine, which leads to impaired renal function.

Therefore, it is by no means necessary to transfer the flu "on one's feet", and it is obligatory to call a doctor and observe the rules and terms for treating the disease.

Be healthy!
